Wow. What a roller coaster! With the refs making all of those **** calls and us coming back to win this was the most satisfying win I have ever seen for any Washington team, ever.

nate33 wrote:They won because they wanted it more. Just a tough, gritty effort. Nobody was hot. Nobody really played well. No superstar to bail us out. They just played D, rebounded, and executed down the stretch.
They won because the took their heart and beat them mentally and physically.

To give a fighting analogy, it's like watching a black belt get his butt kicked by Joe Tough guy. Fancy kicks landed and did no damage. Joe Tough guy rushes in and grabs the black belt, pulls his shirt over his head and just beats him down.

Boston got beat down at the end because they're weren't ready for a fight that went the way that game did.

Washington ran on them at the end because the Wizards WERE IN BETTER SHAPE. Jamison and Butler and Haywood and Stevenson and Daniels were all fiesty at the end.

KG and Ray Allen clearly were not. Only Pierce and Tony Allen seemed like they wanted to play at the end.

Ayers deserves a bonus. The last two games have been the best defense I've seen a Wizards/Bullets team play in at least twenty years.

If it comes down to Butler or Pierce for the All Star game, I think the balance has now unquestionably swung to Caron.
I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born unto you; he is Christ the Lord.

Can you say STATEMENT GAME??

WOW.

SIMPLY... WOW.

I'll be honest... as a die hard fan I have to say it: I had NO idea this team was as good as it is. Now we just need to get our MVP back & this could get sick REAL quick.

GO WIZARDS!!!!!

Why is Comcast talking about women's basketball right now?

That's just ridiculous.

Tough Juice wrote:Over the last two games the Wizards have probably played the best defense I've seen since I can remember. Everyone hustling, everyone staying disciplined. Even Jamison made plays on D. Awesome stuff. This team may be really scary by time the playoffs roll around and Arenas is back to full strength.

You just witnessed a changing of the guard and the face of this team changing.

I fully expect us to play lock down D the rest of the year. This is the formula to Ws and you can officially say, the whole team has bought in, including AJ.

I feel better about this team as a TEAM then I have since I can't remember.

I love this team with Tough Juice as the heart and sole leader and I love how AJ has stepped up his D even though he has a long was to go. I give AJ a ton of props for that.

I don't even want to vote in the POTG thread. Everybody deserves this one. Players, coaches, towelboys. Everyone.

Caron Butler is my baby daddy.

That is all
Eric Maynor is the worst basketball player I've ever seen.

Was thinking the exact same thing... that's just silly. If the skins won a big game like this they'd be ALL over it. This proves the point that DC is a football city... where is the wizards love baby?!?!?

+1

When was the last time the Wiz won against an elite level team by any other way than outrunning, outgunning them? Tonight, the D kept us in it, gave us a chance. Very impressive.

Best win since game 6 in the Chicago series a few years back!

This feels so sweet.

Caron was awesome and really clutch late in the game.

Jamison stepped up in the 4th.

Brendan struggled mightly with the ball in his hands but played excellent D on KG for the most part, especially late.

This win is awesome on so many levels!

I wonder how long ESPN can downplay us now?

Unreal. Caron should do more studio stuff on TNT. How come we don't vote for our own, Wiz fans? I don't live for the All-Star game, but we should give these guys props. It's not all about offense and putting the ball and the basket. That's why we kept Stevenson over Navarro.

Give EJ credit these last two games. He pushed the right buttons and stayed with Blatche and Haywood and didn't play Songaila or Young in the 2nd half. With that kind of effort the last two games, it's hard to believe our record is barely above .500.

I switched to the KU Oklahoma game on ESPN, rather than watch women's basketball.

Return to Washington Wizards
