The games from here-on out are going to get more difficult for the Celts. One, its just virtually impossible to keep the interest and energy level that high for an entire season unless you're the greatest player of all time.... also, teams who have played the Celtics start to get a feel for them and new scouting reports get written. the 05-06 pistons went through this, when saunders came he instituted a different offensive systems. all of a sudden, ALL of the scouting reports on the pistons became obselete, they had diff strengths and diff weaknesses. This is in part why they had such an amazing start but in the 2nd half of the season, played more like a 54-win team (which is basically what they have been the past half decade). same thing will happen with the celtics. there are going to be less blowouts from now on, and some tougher games. They'll be fine though they are too damn talented, and will win like 62 or 64 games.

And there's no excuse. Celtics fans kept bringing up Rondo. Well, Rondo played and you lost at home.

Are you serious? Wizards have commited 23 and Boston 22. In terms of free throws Wiz have 30, Celts 22. Looks fairly even to me.

If anything the celts choked big time. They were up 15 with 3 or 4 mins left. Doc Rivers screwed going small ball when Was played the whole game with two bigs. With Rondo hurt Celts roster weaknesses are more apparent. They still need another big so that Posey isn't forced to play the majority of his minutes at the 4 and outside of Rondo nobody can beat a halfcourt trap consistently. The Wizards were able to keep the game within reach throughout by putting pressure on the PG making the halfcourt sets begin at 14. Then at the end Butler took over, though given that Posey or Tony Allen (better defenders) were in the game it makes no sense to have Pierce guarding him during the stretch.

Better believe. Caron Butler has become a legit superstar.

Kwame after all wasn't a pathetic draft pick. He ended up helping us big time.

Rondo played 20 mins and didn't play much down the stretch. Also if you actually watched the game you could see he was moving gingerly most of the time. The sad part is that Rondo hurt is probably a better PG than anybody else on the squad.

Joel Przybilla took 3 from Orlando PG's earlier this year...2 from Nelson and 1 from Arroyo...

Legitimacy. Boston was given a ton of weak fouls, and drew a few questionable offensive charges

So much for the Celtics breaking the Bulls record... I guess here is when I say "I told you so"... Butler was really great down the stretch though, it wasn't fair to expect Pierce to stop him one-on-one.

Also before anyone says it, yes the Nets got pounded again, and no I am no longer a Nets fan. From this day forth I am officially a fan of the Colorado 14er's.

edit: I just checked the 14er's are only 9-9 which isn't much better than the Nets so I guess I'm still a Nets fan... For now.

Then sign Gary Payton. All I kept reading on the Wizards board was "well, Rajon Rondo was out" as if Rajon Rondo is supposedly one of the big reasons your team is 30-6 or whatever it is now. It was a pitiful excuse. You lost, big **** deal, you guys play again this week.

Wizards were down 14 with like 4 minutes to play in the 4th, and still won. Until what point will I stop hearing "we lost to a below average team?" And we won both games without our best player.

I do believe the C's had more points in the paint, at least they did most of the game.

The refs never get all the calls right but if you take you C's hater's glasses of you'll notice that the C's had a couple of calls not go their way. I won't tell you all those charges were good calls because I wouldn't be able to say that with a straight face specially given how they've become a flopping team.

At the same time, we could focus on both side of the coin, next game somebody should count the charges that were actually flops and the defensive three seconds that don't get called. Every time KG is out there with a non-shooting big he gets doubled in the paint while the other big is atop the key setting screens.

My point is, if you really want to find thing to criticize the refs about, it's very easy: they're not perfect after all. The amount of fouls called and the FT however point at least superficially to the game being called fairly evenly.
