Besides most of the evidence you give being anecdotal I think you make some good points. However, to think that Kobe has 3-4 years of prime left is just asinine.

At 33 years of age, with 16 NBA seasons on his legs you expect him to be as productive as he was during his year 6-9 seasons?

lol no wonder why laker fans get such a bad rep on the general boards.

You havent given any examples of him being on the decline. You have offered your opinions as to why. Saying that he has lost a step doesnt mean he is on the decline. Just because he doesnt jump out of arena everynight doesnt signify he is on the decline.

If anything...he is maturing as a player a leader and frankly a human. He actually trains like he does to prolong his career and be able to play at a high level when he is on the court.

I put more stock into his mental toughness and his peak physical shape and those are not on the decline.
Not being the same kid athletically as he once was is no surprise , everyone does. He is not super human neither is Mike. That doesnt mean he is on the decline.
You need to factor in more than he just doesnt jump like he did a few years ago doesnt tell the entire story. He also still has some pretty mad hops. IMO

Kobe is declining in only one aspect: hubris.

Would you say that Kobe is a normal human being? Probably not. Should his future be speculated in, using normalcy as the default measure stick?

My point was that I think we'll see him being very efficient for another three, four seasons.

Do they? I wouldn't know because I never posted there. Do you?

Just for your information, through the years on these boards, I've been one to always call a spade a spade when it comes to Kobe, so no need to beat your objectivity-chest with me. Check the arrogance at the door, please.

1. He has a fake voice in tune with Michael Jordan
2. He copied MJ's shot, moves, ego, infidelity issue, and training
3. He is a crybaby who complains and blames everyone but himself

I think I've done my job here.

.........and he was successful in everything he did. I bet Darko Milicic would even try to speak from his bottom to sound like Dirk Nowitzki.

I have never heard this one before? Wow.
So, you believe ....no no ...really believe that he changes his voice to sound like MJ? really?
2. He copied MJ's shot, moves, ego, infidelity issue, and training

He copied his shot? Is he really left handed?

Moves? Is there that many moves in basketball? Should he dribble with his forehead to be different than Mike?

Ego? All athletes have Ego's, none bigger than Mikes.

Infidelity issue? What because he was born a Man?

Training? Right, so Kobe should put less effort in his training.

nice one.. that one really showed how miserable a guy he is. To think.. he only trained hard because Mike did.. the nerve.

3. He is a crybaby who complains and blames everyone but himself

link?

I think I've done my job here.

If it was to look foolish, then yes, Job well done.

Come up with tired troll rants that have been shred to pieces countless times, all while showing your, let's say, "youthful" intellect?

Job well done, sir.

When was this? I haven't been here that long and basically started posting a few months ago, and trust me, I don't come to the Lakers forum to read about their GOD.
Again, look at my previous posts, all are PRO Bryant, except I don't LIKE him.

^ As Phil asked, are you just here to troll then, because in a basketball forum it's totally irrelevant how you feel about Bryant as a person. A person whom, of course, you've never met or known personally to begin with, making any judgment purely superficial in nature, but I digress.

Hey Darko...why don't you go and threaten to murder some FIBA refs family members :o and GTFO of here.

You want to talk about classless - check out your username's comments after that loss in the European qualifiers. That's your hero? I pity you then.

snaquille oatmeal wrote:what a laughable crock it is to think that Kobe is declining, yet I keep reading posts that he is past his prime and he should be traded.

sure he is scoring about 4 points less per game than he did last season and sure he has not had a history making game this season, but so what?
the man is becoming a more efficient player and quietly making his team mates better. wasn't that the main gripe against him in the past?

for the first time his summer trainning regiment was interupted by the Olympics qualifying tourney which slowded him a bit at the beginning of the season (just like it does for Wade and Lebron) and he has been dealing with minor injuries on top of that, but come on!! is he really going down hill?

as far as I can remember Kobe has always brought something new and different to his arsenal every year and this season is no different.

this years new weapon is more mental than physical. he has learned that he can kill other teams spirits with a low profile well placed shank to their side with a quater of the energy that it takes than when he does it with a dramatic dagger to their heart.

do not be fooled, the man is getting smarter at his job and whenever his physical prowess is needed, it is still there for him.

just because he is learning to use it selectably does not mean that he is declining, in fact he is still getting better. IMO he has turned the corner, that corner that Jordan turned when the Bulls started to win.

p.s. by no means am I comparing Kobe to Jordan so Bulls fans step off. all I said was that Jordan turned a corner and that Kobe turned a corner Capish!!!!

thank you Kobe
