call up mccoy or n'diaye... couple of 10 day contracts, mihm should be back in 2 wks.

after that, maybe signing brown... but dont' see that happening if he didn't want to go to phoenix to perhaps put them over the top, why sign w/ the lakers now? Webber? doubt it...

Only do a trade if it's for an impact player like the ariza trade was, not for a band-aid trade where we give up too much.

Weather the storm or get a temporary big man? We're one player away, and I'd rather weather the storm and get that player at least by this off-season if not earlier via FA or trade.

why wouldn't he want to play for us, when bynum gets back we are contenders. all he has to do is help keep us a float and he has a shot at a ring.

I think we only have 14 players signed right now, we got room for one more, then we really would be deep at center.

I think what we need is a defensive minded rebounding big. Someone that can plug up the middle.
Tonight Ridenhour had no fear of going into the lane and either finishing or passing off. Also their bigs (Collison) got a bunch of offensive ebounds and put backs.
As much as I like Webber's offensive game, I'd prefer a solid defensive guy like PJ Bown who can also hit the midrange jumper

turiaf should start over kwame

Post#290 » by Showtime:Part2 » Tue Jan 15, 2008 8:15 am

i don't care if we're extremely undersized. that idiot (kwame) doesn't deserve to start. god i hate him so much. hopefully starting turiaf over kwame will light a fire under kwame's (but i wouldn't hold my breath on that either). anyhow, better to play small-ball with someone who can catch the friggin ball and who actually puts in EFFORT on defense and rebounding. i'd rather have eddy curry or zach randolph over kwame. i hope kwame is struck by lightning.

I would be pretty wary of trading kwame for PJ Brown because he's been away for sometime and could be very rusty whenever he gets back.

I'd offer that for Kurt Thoams though, Phx made a big mistake letting him walk.

Obviously, they're a much better team with Andrew playing than they are without him. I think [Webber] will make a decision where he's going to play this week."

Welcome to the Lakers Webber.

Webber is coming to Los Angeles you can bank on it. Trust me if we could have got PJ he would have already been a Laker.

Anyone is better than Kwame even a midget, atleast he can hold on to the whole ball with dear life.

Kwame should use what Orlando Jones used in the move "The Replacements" some glue.

I agree, Kwame doesn't do jack for the team, except for the fact that he's very good at not making layups.

What's up with the way Kwame attacks the rim. He seems to bolt to the rim everytime and forget to take the ball with him. Someone needs to tell him to slow down. U can't score if ur moving faster than the ball.

IMO, having a PF like Ben Wallace wouldn't be ideal next to Bynum. For the same reasons pairing up Chris Mihm and Kwame Brown didn't work back in the 2006 season. Having both of them clogged up the paint too much. Reason why I would rather go with a Power Forward like J.O.
He's a great defender in his own as well, but he also has the offensive upside that Ben Wallace just doesn't have. J.O. will bring the other team's power forward farther from the basket, making it more difficult to double up on Bynum. This is why I'm happy Phil moved Odom back to the 4 as well.

BTW this will prolly get moved to the trade thread.
oh and, trippy and diturral, sad boys. got caught up sick

Would Marc Gasol help?

I'd welcome either PJ ot C-Webb with open arms. They'd bring different things to the table, but they're both good players that would help us immensely, especially now. And when AB comes back, we're that much deeper at the 4/5 spot.

I'd say no to Mbenga unless he's a last resort. He's basically another Kwame: a big body with a very limited skillset.
