All is not lost
I know this is a tough time for the Lakers, first time to top the Power Ranking in god knows how long.. OT with Seattle who is the 2nd or 3rd worst team in the league. tough schedule coming up. WC is close. but..
Guys guys... let's not give up hope yet..consider the following changes in the Lakers this year:
1) we added D Fish who's playing lights out
2) Farmar is leading the best bench unit in the league (IMO)
3) we traded Cook and Evans for Ariza
4) Kobe is learning to trust his teammates
5) Our team has gained lots of confidence this year
6) of course, emergence of Andrew Bynum
Losing Bynum is big; as last game showed; but when the starters come out our bench lights up as they have all season. D Fish hit clutch shots as he has all season. Farmar was HUGE. Bynum is a big presence; but we're still a top 5 team without him IMO.
If the Lakers mope and give up and forget about the beginning of the season we're screwed. Don't forget there have been games where Bynum had like 7 points and 6 boards and we still pulled the W. Lakers shall survive and be better for it when Bynum comes back
PS please lock or merge if you think this belongs somewhere else.

Huh? Odom shot 3-15 Walton was 1-6 The bench had 43 points, and kwame had 10&10. Heck even turiaf had 14 points. The lakers played as a team, but alot of guys weren't hitting and our defense was a little weak last night. I think people are forgetting that we scored 123 points last night, and kobe only had 48 of them, that means our other starters came up with 32 points. Kobe did what was needed for us to get the win. You could tell some of the guys were a little down because of the news on drew. I am just happy he took over, and got the W. At the end of the day that is all that matters.

I'm not saying that he should be passing it to Odom for 3's or Luke who has decided he doesn't like to shoot the ball anymore. My point is Kobe scored 48 points....on 44 shots!
Kevin Martin scored like 38 on 16 shots last night. look across the league; there were players scoring in the 30s on less than 20 shots. Kobe doesn't need to take so many shots that's my point. He's not playing with 2005 lakers anymore.

Okay,so tell me what you think the outcome would have been if kobe had only took 16 shots? The lakers would have lost! The guy still shot 48&,it's not like he was 13-44 or something,he was shooting better than the rest of the team as a whole. I will say I don't like him taking that many shots because of fatigue and injury, but i think it was a one time thing. Like I said before other guys looked timid at times out there last night.

I think Kobe did what he had to do because everyone is in shock from losing Bynum. Nobody is as mentally tough as him. he was not gonna let the team lose in Seattle. My hope is that EVERYONE can step up to play in Bynum's absence not just Kobe; that's all I'm saying. You're correct also, he will wear out.

I've said it once and I'll say it again i'm not star 24. Anyways the big reason other guys had off nights is because there was no rythm to the offense. They wre not swingin the ball around the way they have been. Kobe was hogging the ball. I dont want to go another season with him forcing shots up all the time. He is kobe and alot of those shots will fall but that will not get the rest of his teamates involved .

LOL! Please explain how kobe was hogging the ball when odom had 15 shots? Walton was 1-6. The second unit had 43 points, and the rest of the starters had 32 points. Heck even ronny had 14 points. Bottomline is none of us want the lakers to revert to that style, but it was neccesary last night. Sometimes stars have to take over games. This is the first time kobe has done this in what 35 games? Some people are drama queens.

1. What are your feelings on Richard Jefferson?
2. What is a Debute?
3. Without playing 1 pro game, is Greg Oden the G.O.A.T.?

1 RJ is ok but I think Caron just past him up in the east.
2 I guess what you mean by a Debute is when someone makes their first appearance.
3 G.O.A.T. I don't know what this means but I have posted in the past that I would take Bynum over Oden.

I think by this time, everyone should realize that Kobe does not trust his teammates easily. He demands his teammates to earn his trust by playing good basketball when they are on the court, the way Bynum did. It should be no secret that Kobe never had any trust in Odom, because Odom never earned Kobe's respect by putting up good basketball games. Bynum was the only guy Kobe trusted and now that he is gone, Kobe will be back to his old superman form again. Are we going to win a lot of games because of that? No. But if he stops taking shots, are we going to win a lot of games then? With Odom playing like the way he does, absolutely not. The supporting cast has to step their game up and earn Kobe's trust instead of putting up 3 out of 15.

we also have to take into consideration that there was a game the day before, and we will get better with some practice time. we will be fine, a lot of columnist and sports writers are saying will will have a hard time making the playoffs? not true, we will still be in the thick of things come playoff time, go lakes!
