LeBron- 101 mph

Post#1 » by DrewDawg0808 » Mon Jan 14, 2008 2:56 pm

pretty self explainatory- wonder what he was doing going that fast?

MEDINA, Ohio -- LeBron James was ticketed by the State Highway Patrol for driving 101 mph on an interstate highway.

The Cleveland Cavaliers star was cited in a 65 mph zone on Interstate 71 near Medina at 2:43 a.m. on Dec. 30 -- his 23rd birthday.

Cleveland attorney Colin Jennings filed a not guilty plea for James on Tuesday in Medina Municipal Court. A hearing is scheduled for Feb. 11, the same day the Cavaliers are scheduled to play in Orlando against the Magic.

Other details about the traffic stop were not available.

An e-mail was sent to James' publicist seeking comment Sunday night. James' agent, Keith Estabrook, couldn't be reached.

Medina is about 30 miles south of Cleveland.

It's not stated in this article, but LeBron was driving a 2008 Mercedes. New cars can make you do crazy things. Who hasn't driven 100 mph's anyway? Thats why I consider this a nonstory. Of course I will question LeBrons judgment by doing it in Medina. That is probably the worst spot to be speeding on 71.

^He's lucky he's Lebron James. Like you said Medina is not the part of town you go flying through at 100 mph.

Technically speaking they could have taken him to jail. At those speeds I believe it's reckless driving

Its a story because its LbJ! My dad lives in amherst, and i know north oberlin is a bad place to go speeding through too, they got alot of undercover cop cars especially on route 2. But who knows, espn/si just probably needed a story and they found it out and 14 days later, they decide to make it a story, go figure lol

lebron is a bad person but i dont care because he is reasonably competant at basketball and is an extremely intense athlete. therefore he should get away with stuff usual people cant. basically lolz.

I didn't like the fact that Lebron said he might do it again. Does he think he's above the law? He's not even the best player in the NBA. I've always hated Lebron's personality.

I am amused by the number of people that post here that dislike LeBron over the most petty of things. Should he be driving at 100mph? No because it isn't safe but I really can't bash him too hard since I've done the exact same thing on several occasions. But to say that he's a bad person because of it is both hypocritical and pathetic. To use this as a forum to say that he's not the best in the NBA is just plain shortsighted. He's close enough that the debate is pretty consistently out there and frankly the two have nothing to do with each other unless you are arguing that if he were (the best player in the NBA) it'd be okay for him to speed like this. The only thing that LeBron should be thinking of is the possibility that he might injure himself or someone else by doing that. If I recall that is how Bobby Phills was killed and several other basketball players (and yet I didn't hear people bashing them because of it).

Wtf has the fact he is not the best player in the NBA (which is arguable) to do with anything?

I was saying that he's not above the law. In response to that statement, I said that he's not even the best player in the NBA. I don't hate Lebron as a basketball player. I just don't like his personality. Me not liking Lebron's personality has nothing to do with this situation. I don't like Richard Jefferson's personality and he's done nothing wrong.

Seems a non-story. Young guy in a new car, of course he's gonna speed. Join the club. I drive 80 MPH home every day from work, and there are still people blowing by me on the highway. 101 is nothing. Deserves a ticket for sure, but not that big a deal.

I was starting to think that I was the only one that sped. But heck, I was once working for a rental car company and when we shuttled cars 100 in traffic was actually a pretty common occurence. I'm not condoning it, just letting you know that it's not as shocking as some of you seem to be arguing.

but did he get a ticket? NO! is he going to court? YES! what did he plead? Not Guilty! will he get away with it? Probably!?!, so the real story will be if he gets in trouble or not, and if he shows up at court considering they play at orlando hours after his court date. im not here to cause a problem, but its not a big deal like a lot of people are making it out to be, but dont sit here and argue about lebron and his personality or if hes the best player or not. k? and im a melo fan! lol
