I think Noah could be a great fit next to Al, with the potential to be the young defensive center we are looking for. He also has enough question marks in his game, that I think he could bust as well .. probably why he was picked ninth last year.
I'd almost rather keep our second rounder versus Gomes or Craig Smith, unless we can be assured of swapping them both for late firsts. Gomes, I think, is there -- Smith, I don't think so.
Here's an amusing little deal, that could refresh the Bulls, who are only three games out of the play-offs:
Gomes + Craig Smith + Gerald Green + Telfair
for
Noah + Khryapa + Adrian Griffin + Jamison Curry
+26.5 PPG, +7.0 RPG + 6.2 APG for CHI, and we eat an extra year of Adrian Griffin, but we could afford that after this trade. We get the best player in the deal.
I still think CHI would want more.
I disagree with a couple things here. 1.) Brewer has more value draft time then Noah. Because he was drafted earlier. Also, Noah is hardly a polished ready to roll player. He would be a great fit next to Jefferson, but he would not be that same player on other teams. We are probably the best case scenario for Noah. Also, I think the Miami pick is a needed asset. I believe because the season is so young they will want a pick.
I have no problem giving up that pick, because if Miami did make the playoffs and we had the 14-16 pick we would be hoping for Hardin and to me Noah is far better than Hardin. Also, there is the pipedream that the miami pick will be sexy next year, but there is a better chance that Wade+blue chip draft player=playoffs.
I think that the Miami pick, plus a second this year (early 30's remember) plus a filler ending contract (Smith makes sense, but I would give him or Green. Not Gomes) is more than enough for this deal.
--Personally Gomes is a guy i want to resign. Bassy can come back if he signs low, but Gomes is the guy I want. Green is gone, and Smith will get better offers and a better roll on a team that will give him more than 10-15 min a game.
Gomes should be resigned. Not only is he is hussle player who plays defense, has a high BBIQ and is great to the fans and media. He has lately shown the chance at being a scorer as well. I think we need to keep him.
