They've had more road games than any other team and only have one more western road game left the rest of the season against Memphis.

Very true, and that's why Orlando has to be the favourite. But it will come down to whether the Magic can show some consistency, especially at home...right now they are below .500 at home, and eight games above on the road.

Same goes for Toronto; they were the first team leaguewide to beat the entire Southwest Division, but have some less-than-pretty losses on their record.

Not a lot of votes for the Cavs - that's where I vote. If there's anyone in the East that can take over a game, we all know it's LBJ. Once post-AllStar Break comes, I expect the Cavs to kick it up a notch and go on a run.

BTW Hairy Midget: True, you've had the most road games, but you guys haven't exactly taken advantage of your home games

It's hard to take care of home games when you only have a couple peppered in between western road trips. You can tell the team is extremely tired from the brutal schedule.

Once we get an actual stretch of home games, I bet they get back on a good streak.

The fact that this poll does not list the Wizards as an option makes it invalid IMHO.

lol the third best team is not even on the list. The 2007 Wizards are the best team in the East. Too bad some people still have the same opinion of us from last year.

Not only are we scoring offensively, but we're playing very good defense which is why we've managed to beat teams like Dallas and Boston. We'd beat all those teams in a seven game playoff series and we have a legit chance against the Pistons and Celtics.

Our team play is much better than our record. We started 0-5, looked horrible but turned it around big time. In a way we're 20-11 since we have looked nothing like we did in those first 5 games.

So good without our best player...

Of your 46 remaining games, 16 are "tough" games...against Western Conference playoff contenders plus Boston/Detroit; the Wizards have only played three road games against the Western Conference all season.

By comparison, Toronto has only 12 of 45, and Orlando has 11 of 43 against those teams. Winning back-to-back against Boston was an incredible start, but the Wizards still have the toughest climb remaining.

Tough task but as long as we keep giving effort on defense, we will have many solid wins like Boston.

Offense was never a problem for this team. It was always 4rth quarter defense/rebounding that let us down. But we really have turned a corner and are getting strong at both of our deficiences.

Why wont we be better? People act as if Areans is some sort of a ball hog. With him, we were the third most efficient offense in the NBA and the best in the East last year. This year we're 10th. Adding him into the starting role also allows us to use Antonio Daniels from the bench where he can feed easy shots to the 2nd stringers.

As for defense, he is much better than Antonio Daniels. This shouldn't even be a question.

Its so surprising to read, "Wizards are better off without Arenas". Thats the biggest myth in the NBA right now. The Wizards are better because:

1. Addition of Randy Ayers. Hes dramatically improved our defense/
2. Brendan Haywood getting quality playing time
3. Caron Butler taking his game to another level

Its not because Arenas is gone. We'll be EVEN better when he comes back. Which is pretty scary...

Heres a quote from him that easily explains why we're winning games:

We have two other All-Stars on this team and Brendan is playing like an All-Star center. You have veterans in Daniels, DeShawn, Songaila and Roger Mason who

But, they are hopefully over the injury hump. At the very least, they have a point guard now. They got Caron back. AD back. Are getting Etan back. Opec back. Hopefully, Gil back. So their record thus far isn't reflecting their talent. It will actually only get easier from here on out. Especially if Arenas returns.

No doubt that they have a fighting chance, but those West Coast swings are tough for any team, and the fact that they come later in the season (where fatigue becomes more of a factor) doesn't help. The Wizards play six games in nine nights in February, five of which are on the road...and the other is at home against the Spurs. In March, they go nearly two weeks with only a single home game...against Detroit.

If the Wizards, with one fresh star and two that have logged 40 mpg all season, can overcome that schedule and finish third, they're not only deserving of the spot, but an upset waiting to happen in the second round.

Lol @ putting my Hawks on this list.

Most people on this site don't even think we're going to make the playoffs, let alone be a top seed.

Well you never know.. last season no one expected the Raptors to make the playoffs, and they ended up with the 3rd seed :D
