WE NEED A CHANGE!!!!

Post#1 » by iceman76 » Wed Jan 16, 2008 11:24 am

After trying to keep myself awake last night (I live in Iceland so the game started at midnight) and watching the game I have decided I will in the future rather get more sleep bacause these Bulls are SOOOO boring. I have been a fan since 1986 when I first saw Michael Jordan play and i have also been a long time reader on these boards.

I posted a trade in december (way before it was rumored on these boards) that I think is a must for this team. We need to get rid of Wallace.
The only team that will take him and give us a bad contract back is Cleveland. So I think we should make this trade and make it now!!!

Chicago trades:
Bew Wallace and Chris Duhon

Cleveland trades:
Larry Hughes
Donyell Marshall

Ben Wallace fits in so much better with the Cavs and I think that Hughes will fit much better with our Bulls. Both have bad contracts and are both equally long.

Then the bulls have to make a trade for the best star player that is availible. And that is Pau Gasol. I think that he wants a change and we have the players that should intirest the Grisslies. I would be very suprised if this trade would not be doable.

Chicago trades:
Ben Gordon, Tyrus Thomas, Andres Nocioni and Viktor Kryapha

Memphis trades:
Pau Gasol, Damon Stoudamire and a 2008 first round pick (top 7 protected)

This would give the bulls a line up of:
Gasol/Gray/Noah
Smith/Noah/Marshall
Deng/Nichols/Griffin
Hughes/Sefelosha/Griffin
Hinrich/Stoudamire

At least we would have a more balanced team and would get more playing time for Noah and Gray. I would much rather watch this team than the current crop of ............

I disagree. I think that things are fine as they are.

I'm guessing he was sarcastic.

But honstly. How many threads do we need on this? We have a rather large trading thread as well as several threads about who to blame and how to fix it.

i'm not a regular poster and this is probably not the best thread to put this in but because it's a thread that an icelander started (and me being from iceland as well makes this the most unprobable thread ever, 2 icelanders posting in the same thread, that's just amazing.)
I follow this board very closely and i have to say that it continues to surprise me how fast people turn all sour.
Sure the bulls stink right now.
And of course we get pissed, but in my view there's a difference to being pissed to being irrational and just plain crazy.
There are of course a few guys on this board who are sensible (the likes of Duck, Morten Jensen and a couple other) who remember what most have seemed to forget: Nobody knew we would stink!
Sure we had a few things on our minds (post-scoring, small backcourt) but we, just like "the experts" thought that the Bulls were gonna be contenders.
And most of us had nothing but admiration for the job Pax has done.
Sure, in hindsight some moves are real questionable but on the hole he's done a great job turning this franchise around.
And i think most of those moves that are questionable every poster that's crying off would've done at the time. Tyson Chandler for example wasn't going to work out in Chicago, regardless of whether he'd turn it on again at another club: Chicago wasn't going to be that club!
Ben Wallace was a 4 time defensive player of the year and great for the PR department. Sure he was old but no one knew that he'd be this bad and what seems to be an attitude that's tearing out organization apart.
We should not judge Pax now, we should judge him after we know what he'll do with this mess!
Sorry for the rant.. this has been boiling up inside of me for a long time.

Regarding the trade.. other than the fact that it would probably be a good thing chemistry wise to get rid of Wallace for Hughes i can't see why we'd do this trade. Cleveland is one of the few places Wallace would actually be really valuable i think and do we really want to help the Cavs?
I'm not big on Pau, would he really make that big of a difference in the long haul? He just isn't a no.1 guy. We'd basically have two nr.2 guys in Luol and Pau.
And i don't wanna give up on Tyrus.
I like Tyrus and Noah and i want to see them get more playtime, just not with another team.

What if we upgraded Marshall to Gooden and you upgraded Duhon to Hinrich? You guys need low post scoring and rebounding and Gooden gives you that, especially if he gets consistent minutes. Plus, he has a great contract. We desperately need a legit point guard and while Duhon is okay, he is more of a scorer. Hinrich is really what we need.

Hughes and Wallace both have terrible contracts and both could have something left in the tank, but not in there current situations.

I don't know, seems to help both teams. I don't know how important Hinrich still is to the Bulls.

And I thought that I was the only Icelander on these boards ;(

I could write this in icelandic but I guess that most of you would have a hard time understanding it.

By making the first trade, it doesn
