If Lebron played in a system like the suns

Post#1 » by XTC » Wed Jan 16, 2008 6:11 am

What type of stats do you think he would average?

Consider he would be the focal point of the offense, and brings the ball up, and has 3 point shooters around him, and the team runs...

What type of stats can you see him averaging?

I can honestly see him averaging ~33 a game, 8 rebounds, 10 assists.

Keep in mind Nash is a way better shooter and passer than Lebron.

You're acting like Lebron is the same type of player as Nash, when he's not. Lebron is more of an attacker.

LeBron would likely score less if he had better more consistent teammates. I think he'd top out at about 26-27 in that situation.

Lebron can carry a team on his back, and is a COMPLETE offensive player...

Just IMAGINE him on a team like the suns, where the team around him can hit the 3's, and they RUN, instead of the cavs style.

I think Lebron would score 30+ per night...

Just imagine him on the fast break coming down on you :| Who is gonig to stop that?

If Lebron played in that type of system he will never win a championship.

I think they could...

Lebron is a special player... can take over a game scoring, and if tehy lock down lebron, he would just penetrate and kick it out.

I think he'd average about as many boards as marion. LeBron is easilly a 10 rpg type of guy in the right scenario.

I'd say 29 ppg, 10 rpg, 8.5 apg

So are we assuming Lebron would play PG?

Lebron Nash Marion Diaw Stoudamire

(I'm not sure who starts at the 4)

They'd be better with nash as the PG.

I don't think they could, because above-average defense and rebounding would still be needed.

LeBron is a special player and can do a lot for a team, but the aformentioned would still be needed on the team. Like he has with Cleveland, but the Cavs offense still isn't solid.

I actually think LBJ would do well in the Triangle triple post offense that LA runs, or a motion offense like the Kings or Suns.

But more than anything else, I'd like to see him in the post more..

If he played Next to Nash they'd be taking the ball out of his hands.

I think it would actually decrease his assists playing for the Suns.

Also, Nash is able to create so much for others, plus with the attention Lebron would draw I think it'd really open it up for his teammates.

Trade Marion for Lebron?

I don't know if Lebron could run a fast break team as the guy that brings the ball up the court. I think you need a PG to really push the ball every possesion. But if he had a PG that can shoot, push the ball, and doesn't dominate the ball like say Calderon, plus a ton of weapons around him in a fast paced offence I think LBJ could go 33pt, 10reb, 10ast, 2st, 1.5blocks..

LBJ in a running system would be deadly.

Let me get this straight, by putting him in an offense whose main attribute is that the star player's primary focus is on getting his teammates involved, he'd score 4 more ppg than in a system where his primary focus is to score? I think you're just thinking "Imagine what LeBron could do with more talent around him and a faster pace", and aren't thinking at all of trying to fit him in to Nash's role. I'm guessing you think LeBron wouldn't need to take on something approximating Nash's role, but I'd say it's awfully naive to think that an all-time great dynasty of an offense like the Suns can move over to a system where the floor general jacks up a ton of shots without missing a beat.

Also, I protest once again this "all those 3 point shooters on the Suns". That made sense to say in '04-05, then the team had a massive turnover, brought new people in, and they began to shoot 3's well too. It seems obvious that guys are hitting shots because they're open. If you think LeBron could create that openness for Phoenix players fine, but that's to LeBron's credit not the role players.

He would average like 33 points, 5 assists, and 9 rebounds well hitting 2 threes a game, shooting an overall 48% from the field.
