Does George Karl hate JR Smith?
I've noticed little slick/disrespectful comments Karls left for JR in the media more than once. Is it tough love or do they just not get along?

i think he hates him. the way he treats him and the way he talks about him even in the interviews is so unprofessional that you haven't the choice to believe that he loves him.
like i said. karl is very unprofessional while he talks about him. nearly every interview has a sentence in which he shows his disrespect to j.r.
he didn't even mentioned that smith did a good job yesterday of the bench...

It annoys me how Karl always has JR on a double standard from the rest of the team. Karl rarely gives him any deserved praise, but is always quick to point out it faults.
That said, if you're asking because you are interested in him playing for the Kings, I'm all for it. I live in Sac, and would love to have a reason to step into Arco for once.

No I was just curious. I dont want JR in a Kings jersey and he wouldnt get time anyway with Martin/Artest/Garcia/Salmons here.

I am sure that Jr could get minutes over a couple of the wings on the Kings.
AS for the Karl hate for JR, it started with the brawl last year, and although I personally do not find JR at fault, Karl did and always has. If you listen to any of the interviews he directly blamed JR for losing Melo and JR for that long, and for the "lost season" as Karl liked to call it. It has built from there, and while some of it is JR's fault Karl has held him to a big double standard that has set JR up as the fall guy and made JR a whipping boy for the fat bastard.

Although JR replicating Melo's rip the shirt and headband off and throw them into the stands act from '06 is just silly, I'd like to see GK do that just once for the team for absolutely no reason.
Last time I saw GK get really angry toward the game he got slapped with a technical almost instantaneously by the refs. I think that was back in November....ever since then he has been very quiet with respect to how he feels about various things not pertaining to JR.
It's almost as though he is redirecting his focus on a young man whom the league does not view very highly in the first place, instead of keeping his focus on chewing out poor officiating.

It doesn't even out. People not liking Karl doesn't do anything for the team. Karl hating JR hurts the team.
I saw a quote Karl said he understood what AI did, but couldn't understand what JR did. Just shows you the piece of crap Karl is, he doesn't stand up for his players and doesn't understand when the players stand up for each other.

Karl is afraid to overly criticize the refs. He probably feels it would cost the team too much in NBA repurcussions.
You have to at least present your argument if you think you're right, and Karl doesn't even argue anymore. JR posturing is not as offensive as what the ref did to the game. JR is an afterthought to that moment.
Why is Karl focusing on afterthoughts?

It boggles my mind. How does George Karl hate a player so much and still give him 20 minutes a game? If he's such a disgrace to the game, why does he still get burn? JR only makes a couple million a season, which is nothing the NBA. Surely you could get rid of him EASILY. What is going on in George Karl's mind? You hate JR Smith, and he makes not that much, yet you still play him, he produces, and then you BASH him in the media. Is anyone as confused as I am?

Yes. It is confusing. You basically try the guy out, play him and if he's not the right fit, why not go for a different player that might work better with the Nuggets' system. He's been getting minutes lately and coming to life again, so we'll see where this goes...
He is so obviously the Nuggets' 3-point cog and the most reliable from beyond the arc, and they suffer so much when he is out, from beyond the arc.
JR's talented. It would be hard to replace his potential just like that - but it would not be hard to replace his role.

I really doubt that. Garcia is better than JR Smith and he may struggle to get minutes now with Kmart and Artest back.

It just shows how immature Karl is when he puts JR under the bus like that, I remember earlier in the year he said the reason JR was benched was because of inconsistant defensive play, when our whole team aside from Camby gives inconsistant effort on defense. and effort wasnt a problem with JR he usually gives 100% everytime hes out there, just undisiplined style of defense

George Karl is an ****. I really hope he doesn't punish Smith for his ejection he was simply standing up for his teammate. He's one of the very few ones that show any passion and enthusiasm. What i wanna know is are there going to be any suspensions? I would think by now if they were going to hand out suspensions they would have already announced it by now.

he plays him because he's incredibly talented, he's the only proven/pure/true shooter on the entire team, and i'm guessing there's some pressure from the front office to make karl give jr minutes when he's putting in the extra work at practice (because of the previous two reasons)
he bashes him in the media because he plays the game recklessly and sometimes dumb, and then doesn't put in the extra work that it takes to correct those mistakes.
