LH not looking to trade Redd (my email)

Post#1 » by Neapolitan Buck » Wed Jan 16, 2008 8:22 pm

This is an e-mail I send to him:

"Dear Larry,
I'm Giuseppe from Naples, Italy. I am a huge Bucks fan and a Michael Redd's one, too. I often talk in a Bucks forum in which many guys say Redd is going to be traded by the February deadline. I obviously don't ask you if you are going to do this, but I would like to know if there is a possibility that this is going to happen. I'd like to see him with us for the next years, because I believe he is improving his all-around play and his leadership. So I'd like to know more about that, and understand if he is going nowhere, and you believe in him as a leader for our team, or if he can be traded somewhere. Thank you very much for the attention, for the devotion and for your tireless work to this franchise."

And that is his answer:

"Hi Giuseppe,
Thanks for the email and for your support from Italy. We are not looking to trade Michael Redd at this point in time. He is an important part of our team and we would like to continue to add pieces around him.

Thanks for trying to get your city to cheer for us...we really appreciate it!
Larry Harris"

I know well this maybe means nothing, but the way he said he is not going to trade him ("We are not looking to trade MR at this point in time") is too resolute not to think Mike is going to be a Buck at least until June.

I edited the title a little to make this a clearer thread....

On the substance, note that Larry adds the qualifier "At this point in time"

My guess is if someone offered something really good, it would be "this point in time"

Fixed.

We've been through this so many times in the past. In fact, mid's comment that this is the "hiss of death" is quite possibly more fitting to the situation than saying that Redd won't be traded.

That's the same information I received. I don't think they were ever serious about moving him, so this is just something to talk about. They will listen, but all teams listen.. We'll see what happens though.

My 8 ball says 'Reply hazy, try again' when I asked the same question.

Don't put too much stock in those emails.

Redd's as good as gone.

EDIT : He wasn't looking to trade at that point in time because he was writing you an email. Stop distracting him!
