Cleveland was playing 10-28 Memphis, Kobe was playing 9-28 Seattle, that's a wash opponent wise
LeBron scores 16 points in the 4th quarter, his teammates don't play well enough to hold the lead, yet LeBron's game is downgraded by kobe fans because he had more help from his teammates? Those same fans conveniently overlook that only two teammates had poor shooting nights for the Lakers (one of which only took 6 shots), the others went
3-4, 5-10, 3-5, 3-6, 5-6, 3-6, and a combined 5-8 on 3 pointers.
Maybe if Kobe would pass the ball a few times instead of taking 44 shots, he would have more help from his teammates.
As for being clutch or having more help.
In the 4th quarter and overtime last night, Kobe scored or assisted on 13 of the lakers 36 points.
In the 4th quarter and overtime tonight, LeBron scored on assisted on 37 of the cavs 47 points. This, after scoring the cavs final 5 points of the 3rd quarter.
The clutch shot by Damon that someone mentioned was an LeBron assist. Somehow that's supposed to diminish the game he had tonight?

Hey, thanks for the backup...![]()
Where's B Mac or LJ4MVP ??
You must have missed last night on the GB...
I missed the GB last night, but I got your back regardless. Whats it gonna be this time L&H? A Boozer sucks battle with Jazz fans? A we didnt want Redd battle with Bucks fans? A LeBron>Arenas battle with Wiz fans? A please go away battle with Rap fans? No? ...Oh its another Bron vs. Kobe battle? Nah not worth it anymore..... Good thing LJ4MVP stepped up for you here. At least one of our mods knows where his allegiance is.

Actually Ive come to like Kobe more and more over the last couple years, as much as I hate to admit it. He's moving on up the charts of players I like outside of Cavs.
As for the topic on hand... Saying LeBron's performance wasnt as good because his teammates actually hit shots is hilarious... LeBron should get even more credit for somehow convincing his craptastic teammates to hit shots... That alone makes his performance better, with not taking points into account at all.

Yep, I bet if LeBron missed 6 games, the Cavs would go 6-0 since his teammates do everything for him.

Man, great win for the Clip Show
Like Philly did, Clips get their first win of the year in stand-out fashion. They slowed down Phoenix well, holding them to low 40 percent shooting, and significantly won the rebounding. Also what's impressive, is the Clippers didn't hit a three, which unfortunately again for Phoenix shows how poor their interior defense is. Kaman also didn't have a big night offensively, think he may of had an iffy ankle, though.
Didn't get to see all of it, but a tremendous game from Cassell.. shows he still can get it done at a high-level sometimes. He's so crafty with his game.
Strange little thing was the Clippers announcers called Diaw and Marion 6"10" like three times.
Also got to mention the Hawks beating Denver, solid victory for them. I thought the Hawks would win, because they match up well with Denver with their offensive versatility, superior athleticism, and depth. Also are the better defensive team. But what was surprising is by how much, and with AI and Josh Smith getting ejected. I need to see that.
6 of 8.
Knicks won two in a row earler in the season, but do they get a consistent stretch going this time? Or fall back into more losing than winning and ultimate inconsistency? Who knows.

I think I posted it pretty well from later in the game...

Shame on the Houston announcers for basically calling the game for Houston in the third qtr.

Ever since last season when AI was dealt, they've proven that on most nights you can't just mail it in against them. They're going to play hard on both ends with what they got.

Oh.
edit: Just saw it... AI definitely complained too much in a harsh way. JR Smith was cool sticking up for AI, but he's not going to get lee-way from the ref in the way he did it. Probably having a rough response, and in how JR was moving at the ref w/ AI. I don't really blame the ref for doing what he did, as it was just over-board in the dispute from AI and Smith. Obviously complaining, saying your case is fine, but not in the way done there. That's the kind of stuff which gets technical fouls anyway.
It was a regular season game, but that doesn't lessen what's been there over-time. Denver still has to improve their mental emotional toughness. That's been one of their present weaknesses the last few years. Letting calls get to them too much on multiple occasions. And with the mentality most of the team has shown in this area, as well as some of the players in general, I don't know if they will improve on it. Karl just has to fix that stuff, and it's on the players to learn from those past mistakes.
