Ric Bucher: Tyrus Thomas available in trade talks

Post#1 » by kulaz3000 » Thu Jan 17, 2008 2:05 am

Ric Bucher/ESPN -
According to Ric Bucher of ESPN, it is a matter of when more than if they made a trade ahead of February's deadline.

Bucher says that Tyrus Thomas is available and that they may readdress trade talks for Pau Gasol

Bucher thinks a player who was a high draft choice whom isn't getting the mintues is being shopped in trade talks. He is a genius.

Just because he'd average close to that here with PT doesn't mean a better coaching staff won't get more than that out of him
Trade Wallace

(this worked for Skiles. Lets go for 2)

he maybe able to put up big numbers now but he needs time, it is truly a sad situation because of the talent he already has and his future potential

A package of Tyrus and Thabo is now starting to look like it may actually fetch us something. Throw in Joe or Noc and some future picks and we may really be on to something.

@ this point, I wouldn't trade Thabo...he's looking like the Bulls STARTING 2guard....

Let him play this out @least for the rest of the year

There is no doubt i would still trade him. No need to fall back in love after one good game. If the right deal comes, and if it relies on packaging in Thabo into the deal, its a done deal.

He may be a decent player down the line, but he still has a long way to go.

:reporter:

Ric Bucher reports that Tyrus Thomas will not play another game in a Bulls uniform... but then again, he still could too.

One of two things is going on, either:
- Tyrus is really available and its being leaked around the league.
- One reporter picked this up and guys are just restating what they heard from that report.

Because I have heard a lot of trade Tyrus stuff recently. Given that he is getting complete garbage minutes, it kind of backs it up.

If Paxson could pull off:
Nocioni + Tyrus + Duhon + 1st for Gasol + Navarro, he would make up for a lot of sins.

Kirk / Ben
Sefoloshaaaaaaa / BenG / Navarro
Deng / Sefoloshaaaaaa
Gasol / Smith
Noah / Gray / Wallace

works for me.

Honestly, that probably has a better chance of coming to fruition than Bucher's other prediction last summer.

Sad but true.

I wouldn't mind trading Tyrus b/c I don't think that we're ever going to use him right. Either he's a big talent and he'll blossom elsewhere but not here, or else he's not that great. Either way, we do better by trading him if we can get a good return.

I would be thrilled with the trade that you mentioned but doubt that Memphis would do it.
What's more, I also doubt that Wallace would go to the end of the center rotation. I wish it, but I don't believe it. And while he's still getting 30mpg for us we're not going to turn things around, even if we have Gasol.

I hope Pax doesn't make some kneejerk trade just to make a lame playoff push.

You're a basketball guy. Would you really start a lineup with one 3 point shooter, who's shooting <30% on the season?
