Couple questions

Post#1 » by MoGrAdY » Thu Jan 17, 2008 2:41 am

Ok this is something that has bugged me all year about this team. Why can we never hold onto leads? Ive seen it happen atleast 10 maybe even more times this season. We jump out to a 10+ pt lead and then allow the other team back into the game and sometimes end up losing the game like tonight. I actually quit watchin this game at halftime because I needed to get some stuff done and it had no reason being close ever. I turn it back and see we are tied. And then just go on to lose. So my question is, why does this always happen? I think the only time we held a lead was last night against Chicago. The only reason they cut it to 14 was because our 3rd string and 2 string guys werent playin very hard. Were never going to be a good enough team if we cant hold leads though.

2nd question. I know Hedo is "Mr. 4th quater" but why in the hell did we keep givin him the ball tonight? He couldnt do crap all night and could do crap in the 4th. Dwight at the very least would have likely earned some FT's. I just get tired of SVG always relying on Hedo even when hes playin like crap.

This is more of a complaint but does it bother anyone else that we interview the other teams players like tonight? We just blew a 15 point lead. We lose to the lowly Bobcats. An its like they wanna push you over the edge by making you listen to what Jason Richardson has to say? I really could give a **** less what he has to say. If you dont wanna talk to a Magic player dont talk to anyone.

Damn this team pisses me off :banghead:

I understand what your saying, but honestly just relax man. The Magic I think have had the HARDEST schedule so far this season long. It should ease up alot for us. Right now I think its just fatigue. Like someone else said in another thread the Magic have played 39 games compared to some teams that have played 33-34 games. Though its only 4-5 games difference. Its still quit a bit, and means the Magic have had alot of back to back. I think it will be ike this for another week or so before everyone fully recovers. I still think were on a good track right now also. I wouldnt be to worried.

We can't use the hardest schedule excuse when we blow a 19 point lead to the Charlotte Bobcats...

...damn I need a drink.

We haven't had the hardest schedule so far. Sagarin rankings have us having the 15th hardest schedule. We've played 41 games. Most other teams anywhere between 37 and 41.

Hedo played a decent game, aside of his bad shooting he was good. Aside of Dwight, he's playing the best D out there. GW made most of his points when Hedo wasn't guarding him. He penetrated and got layups though they didn't go in. And he didn't get the ball THAT much late in the 4th, he got it 4 times 1 was a layup, 2nd was a pass to Dwight that resulted in FT's, 3rd was when he got fouled 2 FT's and the last was a missed 3 pointer if i'm not mistaken. Shard did pretty bad too at the end. Still I'd like Hedo or Shard to take all the shots, even if they miss it. I still have hope when they have it in their hands as opposed to Arroyo, bogans or co shooting it late in the game.

Also, Dwight needs to get more touches. I blame coach for that. If he wanted it, it would have happened.

The reason we suck and let opponents get back in the game,
is because we have no TRUE PASSER outside of Hedo.
Arroyo/Nelson are good passers but for a PG it's not good. They look for the shot first, which takes us out of our offense. Dooling/Bogans/Evans/JJ all suck when it comes to ballhandling /passing skills, Cook/Dwight/Foyle/Augustine are pretty awful when it comes to passing and Shard is medicore at best only av. 2 per game and isn't a good passer.

Put short, we have too many players that want to shoot and have no court vision. This stagnates the offense. When the shot is falling we are good, when it doesn't we have NO CLUE on offense and it results in TO's and bad shots. We need players who help the flow of our O with good ballhandling skills and court vision.

Our Offense really is awful, it's like 1 on 5 or 2 on 5.
We need to involve everyone but that only happens when you have players with court vision. For instance the Utah game, Deron excellent passer, Brewer good passer, AK great passer, Okur good passer and Boozer decent passer. Which results in good looks and higher assist ratio per shot attempt. We had 16 assists on 84 shots, a scary 20%.
They had 32 assists on 72 shots, almost a close 50%.
Every 5th shot of ours results in an assist.
And their every second shot results in an assist.

We are LAST IN THE LEAGUE in this departmant.

its weird man it seemed like we played good defense tonight.... and horrible offense which is the exact opposite of what we usually do. why cant we just do both at one time. it cant be too much harder than the pat your head and rub you tummy thing

this team is inconsistent because we don't go into howard enough. our offense is based on hedo, rashard, arroyo, jameer, and keyon. can you talk about being inconsistent at its best with those players.

We forget about Dwight down the stretch.

His role is just to set picks for some reason.
