Suns / Bobcats

Post#1 » by abekazi » Thu Jan 17, 2008 7:29 pm

Suns Get:

Okafor
Gerald Wallace

Charlotte Gets:

Amare
Eric Piatkowski

According to some of the rumors either Amare or Marion is going to be dealt at the trade deadline.

With Okafor, Wallace, and Marion we would never get out rebounded agian. Our offense might struggle, but our defense would get a nice boost. As well as this deal still keeps us athletic and able to run.

Amare = Franchise

He is going nowhere. No chance of it. Any Amare deals should be locked at this point IMO.

I agree that Amare is pretty much untouchable, but this is the best offer I could ever see for him. With a front court of Emeka and Wallce with Marion is crazy. There is just one problem....

...Emeka wants max money. Bobcats don't think so. And judging by this seasons' stats, they might have made the correct judgement. His blocks, scoring and rebounding have dipped. He is still a solid big man, but I have to agree, not a max money player.

I doubt either team would do this. Amare's way too important to us, and the Bobcats wouldn't trade two of their best defenders (also their two best players) for a guy who's strengths clearly are on the offensive end. Mohammed/Amare/Dudley?/J-Rich/Felton looks pretty nice on offense, but they most likely wouldn't win more games than they do right now due to their bad defense.

One of the better deals out there, but I doubt that we move Amare....ever, especially since we didn't trade him for Kevin Freaking Garnett.

If anyone gets moved by the trade deadline, it's Nash....

how bout for marion, barbosa, and atlanta 1st?

i wish the suns get rid of barbosa, he is so one dimentional its not even funny anymore.

okafor - C
amare- PF
wallace - SF
bell
nash

that would be sweet, heck give charlotte like 5 mil on top of it to do this trade.

Normally I would be against a lineup like that with Amare and another scoring big. But since watching Amare all season, he has become a spot shooter. He isn't ttacking the basket with the same effort in his first couple of seasons. So now that lineup would be sick.

Amare = franchise
Wallace = franchise

both parties aren't doing this.

Sorry, I love Amare but Gerald Wallace in case you guys out in the desert haven't been following us, has been playing like a SUPERstar the past month. He's not going anywhere. I'd give you guys Okafor though in a heartbeat.

Hahah.
Exactly. We need to counter all those offers for Amare with the response, "let's do it with Marion instead Amare".

Wallace has been on a tear lately, Bobcats will not do any trades unless its a can't miss. Wallace + someone else for Stoudemire... they will most likely agree.

I'd do a trade like:

Stoudemire + Barbosa

Okafor + Richardson + Future first.

Suns get

C: Okafor/Skinner
PF: Marion/Diaw
SF: Hill/Tucker
SG: Richardson/Bell
PG: Nash/Banks/Strawberry

Thats not bad at all...

^ No thanks, I like Mek a lot, but Amare's clearly the better player, it's not even close, especially this season. And since J-Rich earns a lot more than Barbosa while we'd also have to re-sign Okafor after this season, who seems to be looking for the big money, I wouldn't even consider this proposal, and since we're not exactly into spending money I'm pretty sure Kerr and Sarver think the same. Adding another 1st round pick we might sell doesn't change anything about it.

Are you kidding me? I would jump on that in an instant. Let Okafor try and put up 25/10 just to get a sniff at the 12 mill. per Charlotte was offering him. Whoever says no to this trade is a firckin' idiot. The Suns would easily take the rest of the NBA with both Wallace and Marion on the floor at the same time. Since Wallace would mostly play the 4, they'd have to find a way to trade Boris Diaw, even though he's found the fountain of contract-year-ball.

None of these issues resolve the BIG problem of having no competent backup to Nash. I'd much rather do something like TT+Cassell+Maggette for Marion+Banks+ATL

Let Cassell and Maggette walk or S&T them

Return to Phoenix Suns
