Oh, BTW...on the Howard/Terry trade...

If we could get a lineup of Dampier/Nowitzki/Butler/Wallace/Harris, yeah, I think I would ultimatley do that, but I would explore options of keeping Howard and attaining only one of Wallace or Butler first.

I think obtaining either Caron or Wallace would be very hard, arguably Caron is the most valuable player on the Wizards (Gilbert is the only argument), and Gerald Wallace IS the most valuable player from the Bobcats. If Howard weren't involved, it'd probably take a combination of Bass+Diop+Terry just for them to even CONSIDER. It'd be nice, but it'd kill our big-man depth, and I don't think Washington would want a bunch of swing-men in return.

I would do that in an instant.

Bass + Diop + Terry for Butler or Wallace....

I would immediatly pay Webber whatever it takes up to MLE and then address our center issue in in the off-season with Diop, Kwame, Najera or even attempt to get Shaq. Remember, we still have Juwan & Fazekas and can re-sign Mbenga, Pops or any other temperary scrub.

I know it's still a homeristic trade, but I was daydreaming and seeing what may be more viable for Washington.

Washington has a 13 man roster, meaning a 4 for 2 or a 3 for 1 trade can happen without waiving anyone. I also remember that they are trying to dump Thomas, thus 4-2. I also remember their owner being cheap. The following is just above 80% of the Wizard's outgoing salary, so they save 20% this year.

Terry + Bass + Diop + Ager
for
Butler + Thomas

Now, in reality, I don't think the Wizards would use Butler to move Thomas, but if they can spin off Terry to another team for value with the additions of Diop and Bass while lowering payroll this year, dumping Thomas and filling our their roster, they may start to heavily think of it. Still a longshot though.

I think adding Thomas wouldn't do much for them. Yeah they're getting two big-men in return while still having Haywood, but I still think they'd want more from us.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure Butler is untouchable right now. Same may be true for Wallace. Any trade for them would almost have to have Howard or Harris and like I said at the beggining, they would be too expensive.

maybe the wiz could send terry and blatche to cleveland for hughes and varejao... they get a good young big in varejao... and hughes gets a homecoming party...

butler could be the big guard stopper were looking for... jones and stack have only a couple more seasons left in the tank... it would only be a matter of time before we start looking for some more wingmen...

Wizards arleady stated they have no interest in Hughes. And I don't blame them.
