The hypothetical- Ignitowsky, please respond

Post#1 » by fimslim3 » Thu Jan 17, 2008 9:14 pm

The Knicks are currently on a three game winning streak, would you rather see the Knicks be competitive throughout the rest of the season and end 34-48 and make Isiah smirk a bit as he said he improved the team from last season and land the 9th pick. On this note the Heat pick up the 2nd pick (Wolves land top pick) drafting Derrick Rose for a Rose/Wade/Davis/Haslem/Shaq lineup.

Or would you rather see the Knicks continue to lose every game, end up with the second pick overall, Timberwolves landing the top pick.

I have a feeling the Wolves, the projected number one, may not even draft a point guard, so we do have a shot at Rose. I think they'll draft Beasley.

keep winning so we can keep zeke

plus wining in the low to mid 30's excites me

and we can go in with the same group and management next year and say this is the year we make the playoffs for the 5th straight year

nothing would excite me more then that

To add to the hypothetical, we keep the same team as we have this season for next season.

You know this going to happen. All part of Isiah's master plan to drive Knick fans crazy.

I concur. Although some people say Jarryd Bayless is better than rose, but I dunno. Anyway I know some poeple think that if the Knicks play well to end this season they will carry that over to next season, but that's not what happens. If the Knicks are ever going to get to the point where they can win games dependably, then we need to make changes both in management and the roster. Although I know most of the people on this message board would disagree.

There is a reason this thing is called a lottery. There is no guarantee we will end up with the first pick even if we have the worst record. When was the last time the worst team had the number 1 pick? With Lebron?

I am for playing the best team you have and see what they can do. The fact is this team is not good enough to win consistently. We will be in the lottery this year and if Isiah drafts well, we will pick someone who will help.

I refuse to root against my own team. It's like rooting for this President to do something terrible just so the Democratic nominee has a better chance of winning in November.

I actually agree with this. Even though I know i just quoted Bno's post and said I agreed with that, I don't think that the Knicks should lose on purpose. But I don't want to see anymore win now trades being made either, which I'm pretty sure we'll be seeing at some point.

EXACTLY!!! THEN WE WOULD OF COURSE MISS THE PLAYOFFS!! Seriouslu I know all of you guys wanting to win right now are sick and tired of always resorting to "wait til next year". That seems to have been the Knicks motto these past 4 years and I know I'm not the only one sick of this. We must lose, get rid of Zeke, draft in top 3.

Dude, I clearly stated that we don't land the number 1 pick, the Wolves don't draft another PG with Foye, McCants, Telfair, and Jaric. They'll most likely draft Beasley.

Right, because our last lotto pick helped so much.

I want the knicks to be competitive in every game, to win every game they can, to develop confidence and a winning attitude.

I want NY to look like a solid prospect again so real coaches {Carslile?} and FAs {Artest?} will take a risk on us.

I want the young guys to play major mins and succeed like they have the last few games.

I want the knicks major money players to play well and get moved while their value is somewhat better than what it is now. i want Marbruy to either be bought out or be traded this summer. i want Zach gone for cap relief, picks, and/or role players.

I want Jamal, nate, Lee, balkman and Curry to be the elements we build around and not to be traded away foolishly.

And yes, i want the to go on a wining streak and bring the fun, pride and momentum back to the garden.

And no, I dont think tanking is ever the answer. no I dont think losing is ever good for a team. no I dont think rose or Gordon or mayo are franchise players or the answer to this teams problems. and no I dont want to see isiah remain as coach but Im willing to see what he can do as Gm through the summer.

has this been clear enough for you or will you ask me these same questions yet again in another week?

Add to this scenario, Dolan hands Isiah Thomas an extension after a 34 win season.

Isiah wont stop coaching the team, he's stubborn and stated numerous times he will coach the team to the championship or he will die. So no Carslile.
