This loss and the Toronto loss have a couple things in common.
1. Lack of post defense. Bosh and KG got their points and then some.
2. Every Blazer outside of Roy appeared tentative on the offensive end. Half the time a Blazer was just standing there with the ball not looking to take the open shot or take it to the hole.

I agree with that. Also I like to add.. .
3. Przy & Blake not being played in the 4th.
Przy can rebound & wont back down from other teams.
Blake can knock down the 3 & moves the ball around.. .
I thought it was interesting that Nate confirmed he should of
played Przy in the Raps game, but yet doesnt play him when
its clear the team needed help inside again like the Raps game.

Przybilla was doing next to nothing in yesterdays game though...

In the NBA, you make fouls. Every player is good enough that you have to do something affirmatively to get them to reach or hack or slap or touch in most every case where the fans cry that the refs have it in for them. So the team that is the most aggressive going to the rim will get the fouls called, for the most part, in their favor unless they're doing something blatantly obvious like a Jarrett Jack heads-down bull rush to put that huge cranium right in the sternum of an opponent who is just standing there. This is particularly true in a game where the refs are letting teams play the game like last night.
So while the refs were letting the Celts get away with stuff, Portland wasn't taking advantage of the same leniency going their way. They weren't aggressive enough. So how is that stupid?
Because you assume there is no cause and effect! How are you not going to be tentative with 4 or 5 fouls? Yikes, don't you get it?
I may be a homer, but I also call a foul a foul, and what you said may be true of what happened earlier on( the first half they were letting lots of things slide), but if you are saying there were not a lot more strange fouls called especially in about a 5-6 minute time in the fourth that absolutely changed the way the game was played, you were not watching the same game I was.
Example: Roy on the peremeter dribbling the ball looking for an opening, I believe it was Glen Davis (could have been someone else) ran into him and knocked him on his can, the Ref less than 5 feet away staring at them, called nothing. If that had been Pierce or Allen, you better believe that would have been a foul!
I beleive the best thing that I saw out there was the way our guys did not react to the bad officiating, and tried to suck it up and just play.
I'm not one to blame losing a game on just Refs calls, I didn't say that about the Raptor game, that was two good teams going at each other hard, but this was different. This was absolutely a case of what is so bad about NBA refs, they were either playing to the crowd or were starstruck!
Bottom line, the Celtics are no doubt a great team, they do not need the Refs to turn the tide of a game for them, which in my opinion is exactly what the refs did...

I'd also like to add that I think most Blazer fans (and players) were frustrated by all the offensive fouls called against us. They seemed to come whenever we were close to making a run. But all of them that I saw WERE offensive fouls. We set a lot of moving picks.
I noticed that Aldridge is pretty bad at setting screens. At the end of the game when Pryz went out, Aldridge was our lead pick setter. He leaned on all of them. Almost every pick he set was an offensive foul, but the refs didn't call it.

24mins 9rbs 3pts 4fouls
Thats really good in my book in rbs per-min.
Hes not going to get many points, however in
that game he had some good looks with the
ball rimming in and out. The fouls hurt him,
but he still should of been played in the 4th
when the game was within 5. I think Joel
could of really helped, like in the Raps game.
I just wanna know why Przy & Blake are hardly
ever used in the 4th. I know LMA, Outlaw, Jones,
Roy and Jack are a pretty good lineup to have in
the 4th. Its tough to choose Outlaw or Jones to be
played in the 4th if youre going to put Przy in and
move LMA to the PF spot. But sometimes you need
Przys game to win and not the offense of Outlaw or
Jones. You could always take Jack out, put Blake in
to have that 3pt shot if you take Jones out, if you
need Przys game you could do Przy, LMA, Outlaw,
Roy, Blake.. .That leaves you three guys who can
shoot, LMA who can board a little & hit the jumper
and leaves you Przy who can board & wont back down.
I dunno.. .I just think Przy was needed & should of been in.

They got favorable calls early and late. They were at home and they are a star-powered veteran team, it is understandable. At first I was very annoyed and decided it would be better if I didn't post in the game thread during it because I knew it would just be no good at all. After awhile I realized hey, they are veterans and they know how to get those calls and they can be a little intimidating to the refs.
It is okay though, I trust we will win in Portland.

Haha ease up a bit there man. We're all on the same team here. Count to ten and take a chill pill.
Yah, I know sorry, thats why I waited until today to post instead of during the game! My wife came into the room during the 4th quarter wondering what I was yelling about, I had the game on TIVO, went back and showed her a couple of the plays, and she said she understood.
