McGrady has flair for the dramatic. If he isn't on the court on Saturday I'll question this. Right now he is just garnering some attention. "Pull out of the allstar game". Really. Did he forget his 2006 season...he didn't pull out of it then.

I say lets see what happens on Saturday. Right now to me this just sounds like McGrady blowing things out of proportion to get some headlines and rouse up us Rocket fans.

If that's the case, then Tmac is the biggest sympathy whore in the league!

Im so sick of hearing TMAC talk about being weak mentally. This is the wimpiest thing I've ever heard. I bet those guys sitting at the end of the bench arent really mentally ready to play but when their number is called they tipically are thrilled to have the opportunity to earn some pt. TMAC you play basketball for a living. If your hurt, let the doctors do your talking and sit your drama queen ass down in your $3,000+ suit and watch the rest of Yao's team (after this it is no longer Mac's) play. If you dont have a medical reason to stay off the court, grow a set and get on the floor. Tmac makes me want to scratch out my eyes.

He didn't say he was "weak mentally", he said he wasn't "mentally ready" to play. In context, I took this to mean only that he wasn't %100 confident in his knee because of pain performing some mvts. Anyway, as I said in another related post I'm guessing another week before he comes back. Like he said, either he has to be confident in it, or he shouldn't bother.

On the lighter side, did anyone else crack up when he said: "It is ... what it was"

sigh.

If his knee isnt ready then it isnt ready, whats the point of him coming back limping and re-injuring himself just because we want to see him out there?? The worst thing you can do is return while not 100%, if he cant get up then of course he aint going to be mentally ready.
If injured myself a tonne of times and it plays on your mind and your not 100%. Give the man a break, dosent sound like a plesant injury.

Just like two seasons ago. Whenever there was a target date for McGrady to return it kept getting delayed and delayed until it was over. The same will happen this season.

Might as well blow it up. What's the point of building a team that's not mentally tough enough to win a championship? Isn't that a goal? Rebuild, get some young players, develop them and try again in three years.

:nonono:

I'm one of his biggest fans but this kind of pisses me off. No i'll be honest, this REALLY pisses me off. C'mon Tmac toughen up.

why does he have to say " I'm not ready mentally"

Why doesn't he just say " My knee is still injured, I'm not ready to play" that way people wouldn't think he's such a pussy.
