I really like his game.

This is the first i have ever heard about his defense, which would be delightful if he was an actual lock down defender especially at the 2... He is going to have to develop more into a two since he's not going to get many minutes at the 1..

I think there is probably lots of hyperbole going on in the article - sounds like his agent wrote it. But Ukic is intriguing. Its interesting how much excitement there was about him when we drafted him and then how let down people were when we had to wait to bring him over. I remember at the time Calderon was very much a second choice and very few expected much from him. Its amazing how far Jose has come since then. I wonder how Ukic' game will translate to the NBA? I agree, would much rather have him than DMart.

Can I still chide you for using statistics incorrectly?

That's why he was hired. He fulfills the "using ststistics incorrectly" job description. He's one of us.

I say get rid of that useless TJ Ford...and bring him and Jose...that would be pretty good...TJ is a liablity for Raps...he never wins games he can only lose them...

Let's keep race/nationality out of this, shall we? This will not be tolerated further.

How about package T.J. and Bargnani for a real centre, and let Ukic play the 2.

PG:Calderon
SG:Ukic
SF:Parker
PF:Bosh
C:Big Centre who can still score

just a thought of my imagination..I've heard Ukic is actually like a PG version of Ginobili.

Shaz, did I read this right? We can't say "international"? What about Spanish or Italian? I'm not being a smartass, but I don't quite get what was wrong with the post. I'm Irish and I have a black stepson and I've always hated racism since I was a little boy, but that seems ultra-sensitive.

Prior to this year a big knock on Ukic was his gross inability to play off the ball, so keep that in mind if you're thinking of him as a 2 guard. I don't know if he's improved that or not. I believe the same thing is currently said about Javaris Crittenton; it's a transition many guards have to go through.

Most people/experts felt his transition to the NBA would be easier for him them maturing in the Euroleages due to the style of his play and general attitude. His biggest asset by far was his ability to initiate the play by driving to the hoop and make creative move from there. He's got above average vision and is very comfortable in that situation; everyone assumed that'd be valued in the NBA.

The "lockdown" statements are silly; they guys is long and fast and immature. He'll generate some turnovers and get a few steals while frustrating some players, like he did to a young devin harris, but I doubt he'll come into the league as an above average defender especially once teams figure him out. To make an never popular and always disagreeable comparison think of a weaker, but faster, Jason Kapono; he can be disruptive but can also be exploited. ;) Perhaps in the right system and with a coach who's OK with him gambling a bit he'll do well.

I'm a fan of his, and I've tried to follow him closely in prior years, so I thought I'd share my take on him. I haven't watched many of his games from this year.
