Yeah, sorry my bad. The Raptors as a whole are mediocore. Not entirely Jose's fault. Hes doing a great job.

The Raps have played the hardest schedule in the league so far according to grange.

Jose was the starting PG in December, when they were on that brutal road trip and finished the month at 8-8. The Raps have one of the easiest schedules coming up. So the outlook for the Raps is positive.

Yes losing games to winning teams (alot of blowouts, opposing PGs schooling Jose) and winning against losing teams are just filling the stat quo. In the end the Raps are just going to be 3-5 games above .500. The very definition of being mediocore.

I don't think Raps are only a 3-5 game above .500 team.

First, to preface this, I love both our PGs and would like to keep them both together for a long time. However, I would prefer it if I could trade one of them away for a legit SF that could be a viable scoring option night in and night out.

Teams can only make deals to better our weaknesses through our strengths. We do not need two PGs that are good enough to play 35+ mins a night, only playing 24 mins apiece. Sure it is great to have superior PG play for a full 48 but not when we have such glaring weaknesses in our starting lineup. I would rather get a serviceable backup (AKA not Juan or DMurr), let the starting PG play the bulk of the minutes, and have an upgrade to one of our swing positions.

I have always thought this and have always thought that TJ should be the one we keep. Now, I see that Jose can more than carry the load and with the superior jumpshot, he may actually be the better fit. I have always loved TJs heart and will to win but if we could trade him and grab a Maggette or someone of that ilk who is a proven commodity and could be a second scorer while getting to the line and grabbing a good number of boards, I think we would be better off.

That being said, I would be just as happy keeping TJ and trading Jose, as long as the guy we get back is going to fill that need. The thing is, until recently I never thought we would be getting the same bang for our buck in trading Jose, and still feel that if TJ were to come back healthy he would probably still have more value around the league than Jose.

Bottomline is, while I love them both, I don't realistically see how our weaknesses can be adressed without losing one of them.

Of course he reeks with bias, but quite frankly so do you,

And I as well.

You like TJ more and we like Jose's game more. Simple as that. And Jose simply hasnt done anything except 2 mediocre games to make us not believe he is the better PG. Quite frankly, Jose rarely has a bad game and his average game is almost all-star level. That's why many people believe he is better suited to be the future PG of this team.

I will always stand on the side of both PGs... i'm not as biased as yourself.. i know what you are capable of.

I have said all along that Jose can put up nice 'numbers'.. but he ain't leading this team to the promised land.. and it was been proven.. we are only a .500 team with him running the show alone.. and we are only a .500 team with TJ running the show alone.. we need both to succeed.

This team is currently lacking the swagger and intangibles that only TJ can bring. Other than Chris Bosh, TJ is the only other player on this team than can "will" the Raptors to a win.

A bunch of you in this thread, check your PMs and understand how we're going to run this place going forward. Shaazzam did a good job mentioning it, but I gave you some additional specifics to think about.

Its ok for a fan of the team to be critical of one or both PGs, and to like one more than the other. But lets not call people fanboys, or go around accusing each other of bias... bias will always be there, but telling someone they're biased is guaranteed to create a bad reaction, and we don't want things escalating.

There was a lot of fact-based discussion here, some opinions passed off as fact (which can be poked through by debating the points WITHOUT mentioning bias directly), and it generally wasn't too bad.

Except for the slew of warnings and admonishments you made me go through. But do it again, and a bunch of people get a vacation!

I love vacations.

I agree, but wouldn't mind TJ coming off the bench for the foreseeable future. Of Kapono/Delfino/Hump/Rasho, only Delfino can occasionally create his own offense. I think that TJ would be terrific with that group...and if he asserts himself enough to regain the starting PG spot, all the better. If not, I'm confident that both he and Jose are good enough team players that he'll accept 20 mpg as the backup PG for the remainder of the season. Famous last words and so forth.

I think TJ would agree with you. With all the past threads about how TJ Ford's character is in "question".. TJ is actually the ultimate team player that no ones knows about.

TJ is not blind.. he knows what the Raptors are capable of and he will find his niche. But at the end of the day... I would hope TJ gets back to the level he was before he suddenly got injured. I still think that ATL game was his 'breakout' game.
