Game 39- Cavs at Spurs

Post#1 » by LoveThemCavs » Fri Jan 18, 2008 1:59 am

Great game going on so far. Devin Brown playing well. Cavs 37, Spurs 33. All this going on with LeBron on the bench.

Percentages starting to even out, great job by the bench in the second quarter. Varejao, Brown, and even DJ have been a big part of it. Need to keep the tempo up. I think Reggie just said we're plus 13 on the break so far.

Excellent second quarter for the Cavs sparked by the bench. How many times can you say that? Z played good that half, with some big points and blocked shots. LeBron is playing like I want to see, seems he's taken this personally with Bowen. Bowen is a great defender, so any Spurs lurkers don't think I don't feel that way. But getting physical with Bowen is LBJ's best weapon, Bruce is too small for it. Ginobilli is just amazing, seems like the guy don't miss at times. All of a sudden we're outshooting them 51 percent to 43.

Cavs 50, Spurs 43---- halftime

I didn't think that SA would be able to keep up shooting at a 73% clip, but we're still giving them too many open shots.

Hey, who's calling me old?

After an "accidental" landing on the foot of the Spurs defender for LeBron, things seem tense.

Okay Lebron isn't human. He sprains his ankle and is back before he misses even 1 minute of game time. Larry Hughes would have been out for 8 weeks w/ this. By the way I hate the spurs. Parker evidentially taking lessons from Bowen on the art of the sprained ankle. I HATE YOU. I remember like a month or so ago I was watching the Cavs and somebody fell into Lebron's knee like what happened to Arenas and I thought "Oh crap, he could be out for a while" I don't think he missed any game time with that either. His knee bent the wrong way and he was right back like nothing happened.

Glad we just held onto the same lead in that quarter. Duncan is more animated than I've ever seen him. Then again, I don't watch him a whole lot. Larry and Drew need to stop shooting the dumb shots. It could cost us the game. Would like to see more of Andy and Boobie.

Terrible subsitutions by Mike Brown. Cavs have lost the lead, down by 1. Refs have swallowed the whistles on one end of the floor, you guess which end that is.

lol, this is truly sad.. Tony Parker was fouled a half hour before that continuation call. Then very next possession LeBron is raped in the lane and no call.

Parker is just the prototype Cavs killer. There was good defense against him he loses the ball gets it back and gets a foul.

Cavs still up 2 after Parker blows both free throws though.

That was an ugly end to a game but a perfect example of how SAS really doesn't care about the regular season.

There were lots of bad calls going down the stretch there. I do however think the continuation was legit. Gibson needs to make that a real foul if he's going to foul the player.

That was a fun game, why didn't SA call time though?

I'll take it, I'm sure Spurs fans aren't very happy with the refs either. Alot of junk calls in this game. We needed this one more than them though. Cavs gotta put a run together now. I think we will too. I really dislike Parker. But I like TD and Manu though. So why did yall quit game threads on here? I just noticed its been like six games.

We've now split the last 8 games against the spurs - we just won the wrong half of the split.

 Your def a glass half full kind of guy LJ

I had a feeling we could win this one. The team has been playing with confidence lately, especially the bench.

We really just need to add one perimeter guy who can defend SG's and make open shots, and we have a chance to make some noise in the playoffs again

Nice game; Lebron took a bunch of dumb long jumpers and was off as a scorer much of the night but he hit the glass hard and passed well... and coming back from the ankle thing probably helped give his team a boost.

Sasha, Drew and Larry shot like garbage.

Boobie was huge, one of those threes was very, very timely.

Varejao's offense was a pleasant surprise but his rebounding was absolutely critical to this victory.

Nice game; it had some ugly parts and whatever but was San Antonio and Cleveland battled to a win with impressive resilience.

Devin Brown looked nice tonight.

Nice win.
