Great stuff Jefe, I agreed with everything you said!

Just want to add to the discussion that Stromile Swift is a capable scorer and distributor, whose production is limited more by lack of touches than anything else. He's extremely effective at getting to the foul line and really pressuring opposing defenses.

Lately, as in the past few games, Swift has not been getting the ball when he's been posting up. I've noticed that Swift has had his man sealed and been in position to receive post entry passes but the Griz have chosen not to feed him and instead move the ball around the perimeter.

They need to throw Stromile a bone at least every once in a while so he can do his thing and feel like he's an important part of the team.

There's a first time for everything :D

Yesterday i see a video about Rudy Gay.
In that video Rudy Gay misses 5 baskets wher he got 3 partners alone.
He NEVER look other thing, only to score. There are six players on Memphis who assist more than Rudy Gay.
I think basketball is a TEAM play. Maybe Rudy Gay can win a one on one tournament, but NBA is a team league!!!!!!!!1
If Rudy Gay is going to be Memphis Star, i think that Memphis will not play playoffs for a long time....

Great, you saw a highlight (or maybe lowlight) video of a 21 year old NBA player. Does that mean that it's completely indicative of his time in the NBA? Does that mean that he can't change his game as he gets more experience?

I agree, Rudy has to get better about moving the ball and making his teammates better if he's going to be a championship caliber star.

Recently, Rudy has been unwilling to make post entry passes to Stromile Swift, and has instead been forcing up a lot of shots on his own. The result is that Stromile's production dropped and he's in the doghouse. Rudy certainly wasn't "making him better" the way great players are supposed to.

Beyond Stromile, Rudy has to make everyone on the team better. Sharing the ball and keeping teammates involved has not been his strongest point.

He has, however, really developed as a scorer this year. His teammates have to look to get him the ball as well, and his teammates need to show faith in Rudy as the go-to guy. The relationship between Rudy and his teammates has to go both ways.

I'm of the opinion that Rudy isn't the biggest problem for the Griz.... poor D is much more important.

Not for me.

I'm beginning to grow on that package of Nocioni/Noah/1st for Gasol.

We need a culture change in Memphis almost as bad as we need a talent upgrade.

That trade would at least change the culture of this team, even if we do downgrade some in talent.

i agree...

Pau Gasol/Brian Cardinal for Nocioni/Noah/PJ Brown/2008 1st rounder is a deal I would like...

Then you replace Pau's production with our lottery pick.

Then you can use Hakim+Chicago's pick to move up in the draft to get either a SG or a PF/C depending on what we do with our lottery pick.

PG Conley, Lowry
SG Miller, draft pick
SF Gay
PF Noah, Nocioni
C Darko, Draft pick

Maybe resign Navarro depending upon how NBA ready our draft pick is...while being easy on the cap for a year until we see what we have and what we need.

Hey guys. What about a deal with Philly for Dalembert, Lou Williams, and Rodnay Carney. With Dalemert playing at such a hgh level, and Phillys need to aquire a low post scoring presence, it seems like a deal that could interest both teams.

No? What is Memphis looking for in return? Dalembert has been real solid this year. Lou Williams is already a good young player. And Carney, there were "rumors" of him for Lowry.

Memphis is looking for more that what's in the Philly offer. I don't see a good Gasol to Philly scenario.

How about Deng/Duhon/Smith and filler for Damon Stoudamire and Gasol.

It gives you big cap relief and a player in Smith who could be traded to a contender like PHO for a first round pick.

This also opens up PT for Conley and Lowry. Deng can play SF or PF and if you keep Joe Smith he has played real well at PF for the Bulls this year.

Conley & Lowry are the PG's of the present and future, Duhon is of no use. Joe Smith at 32 is a nice player put does not command a 1st round pick from anybody.

I think the Grizz could get more usefull assets than that for Gasol.

why aren't you guys looking at the draft and looking at Brook Lopez as the replacement for Gasol?

he is the best big in the draft, he is who i am looking at as a Knicks fan for the new GM to take.

"why aren't you guys looking at the draft and looking at Brook Lopez as the replacement for Gasol? "

Because looking at the draft at this point of the season is wasted energy. In 2006-2007 Grizz fans looked forward to the draft with expectations of Odom or Durant. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy we have Conley. Then again, the disappointment sure did suck.
