Pippen to be on Waddle & Silvy @ 11am

Post#1 » by NLK » Fri Jan 18, 2008 4:02 pm

Or Noon EST/9am PST

I think Tom and Marc are going to ask him about his comments regarding coaching & his assessment of this Bulls team.

They also plan to ask him about Noah-gate. They also said they hope he calls in but weren't really sure because he is very unreliable at following through. And people want him to be responsible for and coach this team *shakes head*

Yikes, I didn't hear the part of him being unreliable. It just seems every day that has gone by since that Sam Smith article, the less and less I want him coaching this team. I'm afraid he might turn out to be like Isiah Thomas.

Yeah, I don't think Pip is coming. I don't think them calling him unreliable helps either. :)

Why are they wasting so much convo on Griffin?

i found if funny that A-Griff's coach in the NBDL stated that by asking Luol Deng who the leader is on the team. And Silvy is more livid than anything else that Griff is "leading." I know Marc is just ready to flip out on the air and tell everyone that he wants Griff as an Assistant.

Recap:

- Definitely thinks they can make the playoffs and make some noise if they play hard and with goals in mind. East is weak and they aren't totally out of it. There is hope, and still tons of bball left.

- Teams around us have gotten better (Boston, Pistons, Bucks solid), we fell into West Coast trap (circus trip), but we've already faced our biggest challnge and now is time to gain ground.

- Barkley said Pax fell too much in love with player ---Pippen, "but if there's a chance to get a franchise player the u def. take a hard look at it, but can't completely go with what Barkley is saying."

- Deng and those guys have a lot of upside to their career. From Paxson's standpoint you do want to see them gel and grow up just like we grew up as a team.

- Should have kept the Noah thing in house and out of the media. You should look at yourself as a family, and protect each other.

- You need to make practice fun for Joakim to get that positive energy out of him.

- On Sam Smith Article: Very strong on desire to be coach. Has all the qualities of a coach besides opportunity/experience. Student of the game. Knows how to bring guys together. That's how you win.

- Has always been willing to be an assistant coach.

- Can't point finger at Wallace, you have to look at the talent you bring in. He works hard, but no one sees him as a floor general. He's not guy that brings leadership or leads by example, and isn't very emotional so you shouldn't point your finger at him for leadership.

-They have to play as one and bring it every night.

- Pax and Scottie spoke a couple weeks ago. Talked about getting a job and wished him happy holidays.

- Knees feel fine. Had a lot of fun playing.

Scottie Pippen recap on Waddle & Silvy:

*Believes the Bulls are not out of the playoff hunt.

*Why they're such a disappointment: Teams around them got better. I.E. Boston, Pistons, Bucks still strong. West Coast circus trip was a trap. Still thinks a lot of games left and get back on track.

*Believes that Pax didn't take a chance on a franchise player (i.e. Garnett or Kobe). Says after beating Miami, team has regressed. However, says Deng and company has a lot of upside. Does want them to see get better and become a championship team

*Regarding the leadership fiasco (policing of the team): Said issues/things should be kept in house. Not sure if Joakim is seeking attention or not. Teammates should be having each others backs. Needs to take Joakim's energy and used more positively.

*Head Coaching: How serious? Very serious. Thinks he has a lot qualities and a lot to share on the basketball court. Asked about as an assistant? If in the right situation, he'd take it! (SURPRISED ME)

*Ben Wallace is not a leader of the ball club. He's a guy who leads by example, and not to be blamed. The team has to do lead, collectively, every night.

*Spoke to Paxson recently: Wished him Happy Holidays, and about a possible job.

*Feeling good overall playing overseas. Enjoys seeing the other part of the world. Cold weather however. Reminds him of Chicago back in the day. In Florida now.

I'd love to have him in to tutor Tyrus and Thabo - Doberman's 2.0.

Pippen is a joke. He's the last person I want to see tutoring anyone.

Pip may have been and still may be a headcase, but give the man his props, he learned and learned it well. Why not give him a chance teaching Thabo & Tyrus? Those two guys are key to getting us back in the playoff hunt (Noah and Gray are keys as well).

Sounds like Pippen is sucking up to the Bulls players now after that article a couple weeks ago criticizing them

He had a really soft tone in this interview. It makes you wonder how badly Smith misrepresented him.

I don't know why people say he's a joke. He's more qualified than anyone in this organization to tutor our players.

Honestly, I just think Pippen is just a deserate man. He is begging for a job. Hence, why he begged the NBA for someone to pick him up in Free Agency. Hence, why he is playing overseas. Hence why now he wants to be a coach.
