Why does Barkley Hate Vescey?

He called him an arse on national television. Did Vescey ever talk about Charles or something?

In a league full of BS stories created to sell papers, Vescey is truly the king of making crap up. If Charles called him an ass, it's probably because Vescey is an ass.

I literally lol'ed when he went "That's the only way I can spend any time with that ass - on the internet *looks around*". He almost began to say "hole", too.

Because part of his new schedule set up by TNT was a 4 hour internet chat with Peter Vecsey. :)

Here's a picture of the buffoon for the guy who asked.

He's a real tool. He makes up rumors all the time and tries to pass them off as legit.

Vescey always comes up with these trade rumors and speculations that turn out to be false. I mean, alot of sports writers do that, true. So just take his info with a grain of salt. Some of it is true but most of it is BS.

If you read his articles, he comes off as an **** with his wise ass condescending tone while he pretends like he knows it all. Some of his material is funny though but if you're a player, you would get pissed at him. With all that said, he's a pretty good writer (just on his writing alone) and that's why he still has his job.

Pathetic part of a a sports reporter's job, for sure.

Everyone who is involved in the media knows it and what they're doing when they put out the story, read the story. But it doesn't get pointed out by anybody for obvious reasons.

I think it'd be quite interesting if on some sports show, a host questioned the legitimacy of a reporter's illegitimate/re-hashed/exaggerated/spun piece of material they did. I'd do that on a show if I was a guest host/co-host, regardless of the consequences.

They're just gonna deny it. If I was a sports reporter making up stories, I would never admit to fabricating a story. Never. That would be commiting career suicide. I would tell you, however, that I don't want to give up my sources. "I have an anonymous source and for fear of his job, he doesn't want me to identify him. I'm a man of my word."

What are you going to say about that if you're the host? Keep calling me names and accuse me? No. That's why Vescey still has his job and that's why all these reporters have it. Sports reporting is not exactly 100 percent true. Because often times, their sources prefer to be anonymous and some might just be lying. Some could even tell reporters one thing just to throw people off. You never know. There is no "NO SPIN ZONE" in the world of sports.

Yeah, I'm aware. And of course it'd depend on the article, whether to question their construction of the material.

No, not calling them names.

I'd go about what I'd say in a curious, ordinary manner. Possibly a chuckle or two in there. The reporter gets to say what they want with their side, and I get to say what I want to with mine. That's fair, but in the latter, I'd definitely bring out the facts and legitimacy, and inside, that reporter would know what was being said was legitimate and/or true.

Vescey's rumors and stories go further than the norm. Like that "Lebron will opt out in 2011 and join the Knicks, its official!" story he ran last summer.
