Chad Ford: Magic have chance at Curry

Post#1 » by UCFknight84 » Fri Jan 18, 2008 10:47 pm

Pretty good Fixing the Knicks article on ESPN

Chad mentions they would need to trade Curry or Randolph

Another team that might be willing to take Curry is the Magic. They have Dwight Howard dominating in the middle, but he and Curry could play together in the front court. Two expiring contracts (take your pick of Carlos Arroyo, Keyon Dooling, Keith Bogans and Pat Garrity) along with J.J. Redick might be enough for the Knicks.

Dwight
Curry
Shard
Hedo
Jameer

Curry does have heart problems though and gets fatigue very quick..id still take him though

I don't think Curry would be a good fit for SVG's system. He's not very mobile or athletic to be able to fit in. The Magic have a fast paced offensive style.

Knicks fans hate on Curry all the time.

You know he's got to be bad when Knicks fans hate on him. Seriously, the guy can barely rebound as is, how do you think it'll be for him playing with a guy who gets 15 a game?

Heh, we'd have a big and a fat in the middle.

Curry's alright, but I just don't think he's mentally tough enough to really succeed the way we'd all want him to with the Magic. He's one of those guys who gets stats but doesn't really impact the game in any meaningful way.

Knicks fans hate on all their players, it's just in their blood. They even hated on Ewing for a while.

Now if there was a way to keep the rolly polly that is Zach Randolph in consistent good shape, then I would be more than happy to have him. Guy rebounds, has a jump shot, and can play in the paint....you can't pass that up.

Would cause nightmares for the opposition since he can pretty much play the offensive big next to the defensive big we have out there (ala Battie and Foyle)

Not really...

They tend to overrate their players, and then REALLY hate on the ones who suck. I'm talking about the current Knicks RealGM board.

If Cook was too out of shape to crack SVG's rotation, I don't think Curry would even be allowed to practice.

Call me crazy, and I know you will, but Id love to have Curry if thats all it cost. You could bring him off the bench IMO. An bam we instantly have a big time scoring threat off the bench. Dude might not be thin or a good rebounder or shot blocker but he does take up space and he can score at will in the post. I do have my concerns with the guy though.

curry is a blob but if we could get randolph for our expirings and JJ that would be a really good addition without losing too much. dwight's stats would go down but we would be very dangerous
