I voted KG. without him we wouldnt have even been in it.

RA is suppose to be clutch and a hot shooter. I was glad he came alive but he didnt have a great game in the first half. KG kept us in it.

KG played well, but Ray is the guy who won the game for us. Portland would have been closer or had the lead at the end if it wasnt for him.

Isn't that pretty much the case every game, bru87tr? It makes fans feel good to acknowledge the others, but often that means the most obvious guy--and possible league MVP--gets overlooked.

Not for nothing but the guy is like the new puppy around here. I love him to death but I also have wanted to trade the farm for him since there was even a chance he would be dealt, I don't have to make up for lost time.

Pierce gets killed for every late game situation unless he makes the shot, if he misses he is a ball hog if doesn't take it he isn't clutch.

Ray has a slow week and has a "he isn't that good thread," as if a decade as an allstar doesn't matter.

Funny I didn't see any "KG disappeared in the 4th quarter" threads or "why the hell is he doing an Antoine impersonation from outside if he isn't hitting those shots he needs to get down on the blocks."

Look I love KG but if he is going to get a pass for having a slow offensive night or 4th quarter because of his defense and rebounding than those elements have to be assumed when you evaluate his game. Similiar to Pierce getting to the line (obviously it would be helpful if he would make the freebies).

KG had a good to great game, he apparently really intimidated the Blazers front court. But Ray Allen ripped their heart out.

Getting that out of the way, though, I agree with your points otherwise. But at the same time you have to appreciate that many posters, myself included, put a different expectation on each of the Big 3 and I perceive it's linked to a specific role. I know I do.

For KG, I expect he's going to sacrafice points and his primary responsibility is defense. For Pierce, I expect him to yield much of the ballhandling role to KG/Rondo/Allen and I hold him responsible to be the primary scorer and a continue to be an extremely efficient one. Ray Allen I expect him to also defer scoring to Pierce and his responsible to space the floor by being a threat from long range. Allen is probably the most teflon in my mind as I can tollerate the occasional shooting slumps as "comes with the territory" as long as he isn't firing 'em up at will while he's in the midst of one.

Not to say that each doesn't have sub-roles that they should be held accountable for, but, I offer this perspective to highlight why what you described may be the case (other than the lattitude I extended to Ray which was not shared by some fellow posters).

Oh my goodness yes I did. I actually got my own little puppy recently which is what spawned the comment (and has blessed you all with my absence). He craps and pisses on the floor and I think he is the greatest thing in the world.

I don't really want reactionary threads about KG the dude is relentless and totally given rebirth to this franchise, I just don't think we need them for Ray, Paul, or Doc either. We are out of the darkness enjoy the sunshine a little.

Actually, I was paying attention to him because I was wondering why the Blazers were getting to many backdoor passes through. He just happened to be the reason. You can watch the game again if you want...I'm not sure why you're even arguing with me considering you weren't paying attention.

Your the one who said I wasn't paying attention. And the reason for all the backdoor passes was not Ray Allen. I could be focusing him or not, I understand the game enough to know Ray Allen didn't kill the team on defense.

What was the reason for all of the backdoor passes getting through then? It was Ray Allen. My eyes don't lie. It's my job to watch specific players and I do it well. I'm sorry that you can't believe that your favorite player is capable of doing something wrong.
