Agreed, if Barbs can bring us a PF/C who can actually play, I would ship him out in a heartbeat. Maybe, a combination of him, Diaw, and ATL Pick could net us a big, and combo Guard.

too bad there is a collective bargaining agreement and salary cap!

Barbs and Diaw being BYC sucks!

Salmons and Garcia sound good to me, but Brad Miller? Not that he's a bad player, he actually even fits our system I'd say, and I know that he's doing a lot better than last year again. But still, he's not good enough on the defensive end for me to want him over here. Plus he's earning a good amount of money. I know, trading Boris, thanks to his BYC status, would cancel that out, but we'd also have to re-sign garcia.

I think there are more enticing players to me.

Okur, AK, Dalembert, Warrick, Swift, and Okafor.

Obviously, salary is going to play a big part in anything that we do.

In all honesty I dont think we really need a big who is Camby-esque on D, we just need one with enough size to body up the Shaqs and Duncans of the league and prevent them (or at least make it hard for them) to back down in the post. We have Amare, Shawn and even 54-Skin who are all much better coming across from the weak side as shotblockers.

The trouble is though, finding a guy with that size who can still run the floor.. hmm..

I agree upon us not needing a guy like Camby, but Brad Miller is more of an anti-Camby, isn't he? I really think that we should look for a guy who at least grabs some rebound and manages to block a shot once in a while. That's why I'd love to see Dalembert or Okafor on our team. Furthermore Miller is already quite old, and if he goes back to last season's play, then we're really screwed.
What I agree upon is we need a guy who can run, who can keep up with our team's pace, which automatically eliminates several C candidates in the league.

Does this intrigue anyone?

Suns out: Marion, Barbosa, Diaw
Suns in: Salmons, Tim Thomas, Cassell, Brad Miller

Nash/ Bell/ Hill/ Stoudemire/ Miller
Cassell/ Salmons/ Thomas/ Skinner

*Brings back the three ball! Imagine Nash, Cassell, Bell, Thomas and Miller.. :o 5-out offense!

Bench: Banks Piatkowski Marks, D-League Tucker & Stawbs *together*

Clippers out: Brand, Thomas, Cassell
Clippers in: Marion, Barbosa, Diaw

If Brand is going to opt out (and you suspect he will), then they do this trade. Gives them some nice young pieces to develop this season and more importantly, if both Marion and Maggette both opt out, then they have only 6 players with guaranteed contracts for a rough total of $36M. That would leave them $20M+ under the cap for next season with a core of Kaman, Diaw, Barbosa, Thornton and a lottery pick (you would think).

Kings out: Miller, Salmons
Kings in: Brand

In a worst case scenario, Brand opts out and essentially they use Salmons to get out of Millers contract. But if they can convince Brand to resign, they strike gold.

** forgot to mention that this trade gets us out of luxury tax area :D

It figures - whenever I include a suns player (or players) in a trade scenario, they ALWAYS go out and have a great game. Marion, Diaw, Barbs were the best against the Lakers today :banghead:

Ummm

I don't think I'm the only who thinks why not just cut SAC out and go after Brand with that package?

I don't think they have come close to moving LB. This article says it all. I know it's a business but they aren't that heartless.

I think Chemistry would become better if you had a Marion/AK trade.

Why? Because AK can rebound if you put him at PF, can score in the paint, can bring the Defense that Marion had, and can make stoudamire a 30-11 guy by distributing the ball. Heck, he can even be the PF for the team while Nash is on the bench.
