Did you include Blatche in order to even out the value, or just as a filler? I'm just asking since I know most Wizards fans won't like him being included since they are pretty high on him, and with good reason.

Agreed, I'd do the deal without Blatche though most Wiz fans probably wouldn't but throwing in Bulletproof makes me hesitate (which may mean it's fair . . . homer evaluations are always colored by emotion one way or the other)

I put in Blatche because I like him as a player and we are taking on Etan and his contract. I'd be willing to throw in Ross and a few 2nd rd picks if that might help.

Yeah, I think Blatche is the price to pay for dumpin Etan. Dont know if its worth it or not.

It would give the wiz an interesting and big lineup with
Daniels
Butler
Jamison
Brand
Haywood

It's definitely an interesting deal, and you're right: since the Clippers are taking on Etan there has to be something valuable coming back (besides Brand, of course), I'm just wondering whether Washington would be willing to part with Andray, or whether a pick would be a more likely option.

Got to admit I wasn't too exited about this from the Wizards' perspective at first sight, but after thinking about it it's not bad at all. The thing that bothers me somehow is the fact that they would be left with only Antonio Daniels and Cassell at the point, but on the other hand they are missing Arenas almost since the start of the season already and are still doing fine. Brand would add the much needed defense. How would they start, though?
Haywood
Brand
Butler
Young
Daniels
with Jamison coming off the bench? Not sure he'd be too crazy about resigning to be their 6th man after having such a great season. Would they even want to keep him if they got Brand?

The Clippers would add a great scorer, an overpaid but at least (if healthy) somewhat useful backup C, and a young talent to replace Brand longterm (next to Thornton, of course)

Not bad, now that I look at it again, I like your idea :)

Edit: beat me to it with the depth charts, yunggunz ;)

In all honesty, I'd rather NOT dump Etan(And boy would I love to) than give up Blatche.

I totally understand why you guys wouldn't want to move Blatche.

Why would Wizards risk all their future for 2 old vets. Sam is pretty much done(and yes I know he just scored 30 last game) and no one knows how good Elton will be when he returns and that's only if he returns. So Wizards decline easily.

Ross wouldn't hurt, we have no wing defenders off the bench unless and until McGuire gets over his rookie cluelessness and becomes a player. Would you take Pecherov instead of Blatche?

The point of acquiring Brand would be to pair him with Gilbert (creating an unstoppable inside/outside punch with Caron manning everything else), not trading them for each other.

^To be honest, I'd rather that happen, or trade Arenas to LAC,(for ALOT of value) than deal Arenas for Brand, its a lateral move, that will IMO keep us stuck in mediocrity.

Or they could settle for an equally good tandem of Butler and Brand, and then use the money left from not resigning Jamison for a younger, less expensive point. Maybe Monta Ellis or Jose Calderon?
