i still don't get how you can get kicked out for what he did. i love calderon, but did that hawk player really deserve a flagrant 2? methinks the refs were extra cautious because of what happened to tj.
is this what the nba has come to? remember mopete last year getting kicked out after hustling back to prevent that snake kirk hinrich from getting an easy layup? he got the ball first, but that idiot kirk slowed down as if wanting to get fouled- mo hit him accidentally on the head - kirk stupidly missed - probably too busy wanting to get the foul the whole time to focus on making an easy layup - i mean mo is not that quick!
if thats the case, people like posey, kg, gerald wallace, josh smith should get kicked out every game.
what johnson did was stupid, but the way chuck reacted was like woah - calm down homer. even jack armstrong wasn't that offended. he's like "can i finish" after chuck interrupted him to tell raptor nation what a dirty dirty player johnson is!
please. that was nothing! and he doesn't deserve to get suspended 2 games. if i remember correctly, mo wasn't suspended at all, after talking to the league office and them believing that he isn't a dirty player - iverson just recently went after a ref and he wasn't suspended, even though he looked like he was about to attack a ref, and basically cussed him out. if he gets a suspension, it should just be one game.

I dissagree. The hawks announcers said that Johnson and Calderon had been going at it for a while before that play happened. It was intent to injure, and was absolutely uneccessary. There's no place in a basketball game for crap like that.
That said, I'm not fan of ticky tack fouls either, but an elbow to the back of the head, is a different story altogether.

lol, i don't know about the acting, but they showed a clip after johnson was kicked out, of someone at the free throw line, and calderon and johnson were talking to one another - more like calderon listening, while johnson speaking in a serious manner without even looking at calderon...
you know that manner we sometimes do when we are angry at someone, but can't be bothered to look at them while we give them a piece of our mind. AP was beside them, kinda looking on and eavesdropping.
does anyone know what AP said to jack armstrong as he was being interviewed? something about calderon first telling johnson that he hit him hard earlier, and how calderon didn't appreciate it, but johnson was mad that jose brought it up?
or was it the other way around? IIRC, in the replay, calderon hit him in the side first, johnson was angry about, probably still angry at calderon after their "conversation" and probably angry at himself for his poor play and then he preceded to elbow him. johnson is an idiot because the elbow was so obvious, but a 2 game suspension?
lamar odom only got a 1 game suspension for sacking ray allen like ray lewis trying to sack tom brady! calderon is great, but he's not on ray allen's level in stardom.
i love jose's fake mohawk look btw! lol

Chuck and leo would buy anything. They remind us every game about their capital one card.

That isn't a basketball play gone awry.
a couple of games? i've seen worse actions by players, just this year - lamar odom attack on ray allen - only 1 game
iverson almost attacked a ref a couple of days ago - nothing.
it really didn't look that bad.
but....lol...calderon seems to get under people's skin. wtf? why?
johnson isn't getting away with it though. he absolutely threw iverson out of bounds twice in his last game and no foul calls. maybe the refs remember it. lol.
i guess its even. if i was iverson, i'd swear at a ref like that too. "man f u man, f u!" lol

Correct. I'm surprised at the puckhead mentality of those here trying to downplay it. This is basketball.

If you people knew anything about law, you'd know the reason it was such a big deal and he got tossed out was because he had intent. For example, if you killed somebody accidentally, you would probably get away with a easier sentence than killing somebody with intent. Same rules apply in sports.
Had Anthony Johnson run with his elbow up for whatever reason or he's mentally handicapped and "accidentally" struck Jose, he would have stayed in the game. But if you watched the video closely Johnson stopped cutting, stuck out his elbow and then rammed it straight to the back of Jose's head.

don't worry bud, the NBA has rules that have to be followed as well.
it was a frustration move for sure, calderon was dealing his case all night, it's only cus calderon doesn't get the respecct he deserves yet. Things will change soon.
Don't poke fun at another poster. Attack the post.

because its hard to read intent when something happens so quick or in general.
intent to injure really? how bout intent to just piss someone off.
i still don't see why its that big of a deal. calderon looked fine after.
i think people are making a big deal out of it. to each his own i guess. i'm not the one getting suspended.

fair enough. i just find chuck went overboard with his reaction. i think we have all seen way way worse.
i've seen matt barnes do stuff like that - hit people on the head while that player is mid-air...posey is another one.
maybe i'm reacting to chuck here. when i saw it, i'm like dude, calm the hell down. it really wasn't that bad, jack tried to explain why it might have happened, but chuck wouldn't have any of it and jack's like "can i finish" lol!
i think chuck has it in his mind that the hawks are this dirty team. no chuck, they actually play defense. thats all. chuck man! i love him/i hate him - all in one game!

still wondering what calderon did to anger johnson. did he lick his fingers too much for johnson's liking, since johnson had to touch the ball as well?!
. seriously, thats a bad habit. nash looks worse when he does it, but come on jose! that must be why!
