Lakers-Pacers - Jeff Foster to the Lakers

Post#1 » by B-Scott » Sat Jan 19, 2008 8:44 pm

The Pacers have been going small ball of late. Would you accept a deal like this to get a shooter in return

Pacers Get - Sasha, Coby Karl, Chris Mihm, 2nd round draft pick

Lakers Get - Jeff Foster

Why for Pacers? Sasha has been knocking down open shots all season when he has been healthy. He would provide outside shooting for the Pacers. Karl and Mihm are basically just to make the salary work. Plus you get a 2nd round draft pick.

Why for Lakers - Foster gives the Lakers a defensive prescence and is a very good rebounder

Pacers can probably do better than that. Vujacic has, in a contract year, finally managed to up his level of play from "terrible". He has virtually no value as a player.

Indy could definitely do better, and considering that LA's 2nd round pick is the next best thing to worthless, and that they'd have to cut 2 players, this is an easy no from Indy.

Foster isnt even playing that much lately

I dont think you guys have watched Sasha much this season. Im not saying he's great, but he is a very reliable shooter and better then Kareem Rush.

Pacers need a SG who can shoot and hustle on the defensive end

I think you fail to realize how high the Pacers are on Foster. Foster is considered next to untouchable by a lot of Indy fans on this board. I doubt you could get any of them to even sniff this trade.

LOL

Green font?

Sasha couldn't even sniff more then ten or so minutes on our team, small ball or not. Coby Karl? No potential. Draft pick that will be 40-45? Wow, thanks.

Foster hasn't logged in alot of minutes becase his back has been messing with him lately. He has been averaging about 8-10 boards a game in 15-18 minutes. Amazing production.

When you add up all of your crap it doesn't equate into something with value.

Pacers could do better.

As for Sasha being better than Rush, thats not true at all. Rush has been playing so well offensively and defensively he has actually earned a spot in our starting lineup the last few games. No way Pacers do this.

Sasha is better then Kareem Rush who has gotten playing time and a better spot up shooter then Daniels.

Sasha has actually been one of the reasons the Lakers bench played so well when he was healthy. His outside has been money this season

If you have League Pass, turn on the Pacers game. This is what Rush has been doing for us, close to every game while starting.

The Machine is a vital part to the Lakers sucess. He will not be traded for a man the people call "Jeff Foster.

Actually, Foster might be our most tradable (or sought-after) assett we have. He would be HUGE for a contending team needing a rebounder & hussle guy, but he has great value to the Pacers for the very same reason. He would only go in a deal that brings back great value (high pick/ young talent). Expiring contract is not worth jeff - see others for that deal.
(This deal - to start the thread - does not fit that)

i like foster's game.

Im willing to offer our biggest expiring contract, Kwame Brown, for Foster and filler.

something like Foster, Harrison, Graham for Kwame, Sasha, Mihm, and our 2nd round pick?

That wasn't a Pacers fan that said it. He is not untouchable whatsoever, we just don't think we will get 100%+ value for him. He is also loved by Pacer fans. I may trade him for a first round pick to a contender (Detroit? SA?). Idk, maybe other fans want more. But that Lakers offer was pretty awful. And we don't need to trade him for an expiring when he has one of the best contracts in the league.
