"Playoffs? Playoffs!? Don't Talk About Playoffs!!"
When I look at the scores every night, who should I be rooting against? We're sitting in the 10-spot, but we're primed to make a run, given the soft spot in the schedule. Looking at Golden State's upcoming schedule, and their ridiculous firepower, I don't see us catching them at any point (barring an injury to B-Diddy). The Lakeshow is six games ahead of us, but 5 of their next 6 come against Denver, Detroit, Cleveland, San Antone, and Dallas, not to mention a stretch where they play TWELVE OF THIRTEEN games on the road.. Someone told me Bynum getting hurt was a bad thing for Houston playoff hopefuls, seeing as how the other western teams we're chasing (Utah, GS, etc.) will roll into LA and smash them now. But I see it as an opportunity to go after LA. What do you guys think? Are they catchable? If LA plays Utah, who should I root for, speaking strictly from a Rockets fan standpoint?

Yeah playoff chances look slim. Our February schedule is relatively easy, but there's no such thing as that with our team considering we've lost to teams like Miami, Philadelphia twice and other teams.
We really first have to take care of business first, meaning play well before we start rooting for other teams to lose, because it's pointless if we don't play well.

7-7 this season. He was referring to since Tracy joined the Rockets, we have a terrible percentage without him.
This is the same guy that would deny that Yao ever averaged 25 ppg in the quest to call him a big Chinese stiff.
History is history. Everything is different this year. If JVG were still here we'd be battling for home court, not for the #8 seed. We're 7-7 without McGrady this year, 13-12 with.

I agree with you that past seasons are past seasons and we've really played overall pretty well without McGrady, but you have to admit the record has to play a little part of it. It's a whole other ballpark when all your facing is over .500 teams compared to teams like Minnesota and New York.

???
They've been consistently two of the worst teams in the NBA this season, especially Miami. There was no part this season they had a "good long stretch" of basketball.

Maybe I'm confused, but if a team has failed to put together a good stretch of basketball over the course of at least a few games, yet they've managed to play a solid four quarters against our Rockets, its possible that our team is at fault. The rest of the league shuts Miami / Philly down on a nightly basis, but when they play us, they play a good brand of basketball. Its us, not them.

We always get the them at a bad time they were due for a win and philly the match up well against us and the Miami game everyone on thier team was doing everything right while we also played a great game they played to thier potential and thats why they won.

we're gonna have to agree to disagree bud.... u put the clamps on against miami and you'll come out of there with a win. its not like after they beat us they started a run and won 5 or 6 straight. there like 8-40 right now lol. can't blame everything on luck, sometimes you have to create your own good fortune.
