EL SEGUNDO - Kwame Brown knew the questions were coming, so he answered them before they were asked.
It had been two days since he was booed for a dismal performance in Thursday

Whats up everybody Im new here
I think that is a pretty good reaction from Kwame. He knows what he is supposed to do and what isnt acceptable. Interesting that he appologized to Kobe. I think that really shows alot about what kind of respect players have for him. I think we will see Kwame with a fire in him next game. Lets hope so.

I hear your point... but you mean to tell me that 3 consecutive Kwame TOs off of 3 consecutive Laker possessions had anything to do with it? It shouldn't matter if Kwame's in the "spotlight". I'll bet if Bynum wasn't injured and still playing, but Kwame was playing heavy minutes and did the same thing, he would be booed as well.crazyeights wrote:Gonna have to disagree, if Bynum wasn't injured Kwame wouldn't have the spotlight on him. Kwame hasn't been playing well all season, yet they didn't boo him from the beginning, they're booing him now. It has plenty to do with it.
Either way what do you expect the guy to say? I think he took it as good as one can in that situation. Let's hope he mans up.
Basically, I'm saying it was his performance... but Bynum's injury escalated it the fans' disapproval of him being in the game.

So, Kwame learned a lesson from his buddy Lamar Odom. Apologize and make yourself look good in front of poeple just to mess everything up again the next time you play. This is the exact same crap Odom pulls every season. Odom says "I will be more aggressive; I will score more; I will shoot more; I will shoulder more responsibilities." And then end up doing absolutely nothing to back it all up. That's the thing about underachievers, they are all words and no action. The next game, Kwame Brown will show up and play the same lameass basketball he has always played ever since he got here. Just like Lamar Odom. Fan reactions have nothing to do with their lameass performances, they never wanted to play hard to get things done and that's why they suck.

IIRC Kwame was being booed early on in the game, even before all of those turnovers.

hell yeah lets beat the Nuggets .. Camby is no easy task and i pray we do not throw the ball in the post to him when hes going against Camby or else
Camby is gonna swat kwame so many times... i can just see it. then the fans are gonna boo him even more, and it'll keep on going like that until the end of the year. The same thing happened to kwame when he was in washington. really, his lack of confidence is all jordan's fault.

I honestly feel that kwame should smoke some weed before the next game. or play kinda drunk. he just seems far to tense while on the court and think that is a big contribution to his poor play. he needs to relax. at the minimum get a massage before the game.

I respect the fact that he manned up and accepted responsibility for his poor play rather than make excuses or fire back at the fans.
Between getting booed by the home crowd and getting voted the player who gets the least out of the most talent in the NBA by his peers, he certainly isn't lacking for motivation.

He didn't man up. He fronted. You know that I know that he knows that he knows that we know he knows what's really the cause of the boos -- and it ain't Drew's absence.

Kwame didn't apologize to fans. He apologized to Kobe. That's hilarious. First of all, Kobe already said he got Kwame's back yesterday, and basically upbraided the fans like papa M.
Second of all, why apologize to Kobe? I mean, I understand fans' hero worship of Kobe, but aren't these his teammates? "Sorry Kobe, I let you down." On one hand, that's touching, but on the other, what is he, Don Corleone?
As fans, we're usually not privy to locker room dynamics, but Kobe's relationship with his teammates is a curious one. He referred to himself as the big brother of the team, and based on Kwame's response, that he plays for his teammates, not the fans, I guess that's true.
It's interesting to see which players Kobe are 'tight' with. I remember reading that Kobe once demanded to be traded, and that Slava Medvedenko be traded with him. "I'm taking Slava with me!"
Michael Jordan was reportedly a real douche when it came to abusing some of his teammates, including Steve Kerr and Horace Grant. And these were very good players.
Kobe spreads out his mother hen wings over the tired, hungry, and poor. Slava had a near death experience with a snickers bar and Kwame's most famous dunk involved a cake.
Everybody thinks Jordan was a great leader and that Kobe lacks leadership qualities. Maybe they're right, maybe we just don't know what makes a good leader. Kobe led the league in ass slaps for the previous three seasons. There's a pic on the internet of him pressing lips with Sasha Vujacic. Kobe pumped up Smush Parker, always said good things about Odom, and even backed Radmanovic. And all that mclovin' resulted in disappointment.
And yet, the one time Kobe publicly criticizes a teammate, that teammate became one of the top 5 in his position over the summer.
Go figure.
Maybe it's time for bad cop, bad cop. I'm not sure I like this idea of Kobe the carebear.
