Alright, I feel bad for Kwame. But he did deserve it. Bottom line, that's how I see it.
How many times have players, coaches, GMs, owners, analysis media writer's, and commentators said that the NBA is a business? Countless times. The Lakers are a business just like any other team. People pay good money, especially for a Laker's home game, for seats nowdays. Do you want to see Kwame suck w/7 TOs off 3 consecutive? No. The people that pay the money choose to pay the money not only as a loyal fan to the team, but to have some good basketball entertainment fun. That's not fun. Therefore, they have all rights to boo or cheer whenever they damn well please.
Now in Kwame's situation... thank goodness they booed, but they were out of line for continuing it.
I'm in no way encouraging it, but I think it was necessary, if only for one game. It happened, so be it. Don't cry over someone making that much money, as a PRO, expected to CATCH a ball.

But the problem is I don't work for you. Better yet if I saw you on the street I would arrest you for drugs cause you missed the whole point of the thread youngster.
Apologize to Kwame and cheer him when he comes out the tunnel, cheer him when he's introduced with the starters, cheer him when he grabs a rebound, cheer him when he scores, cheer him when he stops his man.
I don't think I missed the point of your thread I think you missed the point of what I'm saying. I'm no "youngster" and to prove it I'll say your picture came from a movie that had Bruce Lee in it that I saw in the theatre. One of my all time favorite movies.
You lead with this: "After thinking about it and reading the papers I'll say that last night the Laker fans at Staples really showed their low life asses last night." You called out every Laker fan that booed Kwame. I know that Kwame plays worse when booed and plays better when cheered. That's not the point. The point is we have coached, mentored, trained Kwame for 3 years. He has not gotten better and refused training from Kareem (your before a fight picture is good). Kwame will not get any better from coddling him. I will never cheer this p*ssy and no Laker fan should ever do this either. He doesn't get it and never will. Its time to say "You either shape up and do your job or you are fired." That is the point. I tell Kwame that if he pulls this BS in our next game Donald Trump will meet him after the game.

Man, after reading this article, I feel really sorry for Kwame. Its one thing to chide someone and its quite another thing to make them feel worse about themselves. I just hope this doesn't happen again to any other player wearing the P & G.
Kobe wrote:"I thought it was terrible," Lakers star Kobe Bryant said of the fans' behavior. "If they want to do that, they can stay home. He's going to be our guy here for two months. He's going to do fine, he's going to play well the next game.
"Kwame's sensitive. You boo him, it's going to affect him. I told him I've got his back."
Brown left without speaking to reporters. His teammates seemed only too happy to speak for him.
Fisher wrote:"I was disappointed. What makes Laker fans and this city great is the tradition, the history. We're all in this together, including the fans," Derek Fisher said.
Farmar wrote:"That's just not right. If you're here as a Laker fan, you should support your team through the good, the bad, the ugly," Jordan Farmar said. "That's what home court is all about+

I think this is really sad man. I hope the fans don't make this a regular thing for him. I remember in Washington when the fans turned on him. It really does effect his play. I remember his numbers on away games were substantially better than his home games in Washington.
The problem is, he's out of shape and not in sync. I hope he can find a way to still be effective

The last couple of games I watched I thought he was really going to turn the corner pretty soon. He was getting faster after shaking off a couple of injuries and made some nifty moves near the basket, he just needed some more confidence to finish better, which would come if he spent more time on it in practice with someone like Kareem.

It's never a good sight to see a player get booed by his own crowd. Also, I think Kwame is out of shape, he sure looks it, and isn't acclimated to those kinds of minutes. Moreover, he's been a good guy on the team, so I hate to see that happen to a guy who's been relatively a team player.
That being said, fans are fans. They pay money to see their players perform, and a lot of that money that goes into paying the team salary. Fans foot the bill, but they don't make personnel decisions. That can be frustrating. Booing is the only demonstrative way to show displeasure with a player.
For example, Kobe heard boos in the first game. Many fans weren't happy with him over the summer and they let him know. But he won them back. I'm sure if Kwame turns it around, and starts performing on an NBA level, they'll cheer for him. It's unfortunate, given his reputation as a sensitive player, but really, he gets handsomely compensated for dealing with the pressure.
Let's be real. Basketball is a highly competitive sport. It's not the special olympics.
I don't think fans hate Kwame. They just don't want to see an NBA player miss wide open dunks and turn the ball over again and again. "Boo," take him out of the game, Phil. "Boo," you suck Mitch. "Boo," I can't believe an NBA player is that bad. "Boo," I want my money back.
Fans can show how they feel in only a limited number of ways. Cheer. Or boo. Or chant for tacos.
I understand why the fans booed. I understand why Kwame would feel bad. I understand why his teammates would rush to get his back.
But it's really up to Kwame to determine how this thing ends.

Ok Mindflayer point taken I understand where your coming from better now. By the way Game Of Death is one of my favorite Bruce Lee movies, didn't mean the "youngster " shot to be personal it's just that most of the guys here really show their age with their post comments some time. I do agree with your assessment of Kwame overall. He does need to step up, he knows this team needs him in a big way. I don't get it either on why he won't accept what Kareem has to give. Doesn't he see the results first hand with what Drew is doing ? One day he'll regret the lessons he could have learned from Cap.Mindflayer wrote:-= original quote snipped =-
