Are the Heat tanking?

Post#1 » by crzy » Sun Jan 20, 2008 6:28 am

I know Miami is not a good basketball team, but 8-31 on a team that has Dwayne Wade---a top 10 player?

Shaq has two consecutive huge games upon returning and then only plays 23 minutes against the Knicks?

So this is a legitimate question. Are the Heat tanking on purpose?

They aren't tanking yet. I really believe the Heat want to end this losing streak.

No, but it certainly does look like they are.

And eventually they will be.

They'll actually tank once they break the losing streak (which is public embarrassment no franchise would welcome).

YO if they aren't tanking I think they should, because this is a great way to return to the championship by drafting a top 3 player (as the Spurs did). And its easy for Shaq and/or Wade to miss the remainder of the season with the list of injuries they've had recently.

The Heat are going all out every game, the problem is that they just flat out suck.

Wright is an average players at best but Wade and Rose will definitely make for a great combo...

And they are not tanking. They are just this bad! But it is a good year to be terrible...

Pat Riley and Wade... they have to win at some point. This cannot be a TMac all over again. They are bad but they should not be losing like this.

Really though Even though Wade is still injured and his team sucks they should not be playing That bad .. no excuse Shaq is declining but he still attracts a double most the time so Wade should be stepping up taking a lot more shots and his Defense has just been horrible .. the heat are just terrible ... and its scary for Heat fans to think that the year rileys contract is up so is Wade's .. they are gonna have to do something or its buh-bye wade

They are definitely tanking and I would want them to if I was a Heat fan, they are a good team but they are not capable of winning a championship with the level of competition in the post-donaghy era, they are stuck with Shaq's large contract for at least two more seasons so its really difficult to get some young talent around Wade through free agency.. getting a high draft pick is their best option.

tanking is morally repugnant. The NBA should find a way to get rid of tanking.

Supposedly they did with the draft lottery ... which is also Contradicting because then people start to complain when their team has the worst record and they dont get the frist pick .. see the celtics of last year
