This is year one of the Lewis/Howard tandem. And the coming season was supposed to be the breakout year.

It is too easy to build around a player like Dwight Howard to be worried about this. Plus, this is year one of Dwight/Lewis. Years of playing together will only make them better, and noticably. It is quite foolish to believe what you see is what you get right now. Dwight isn't even done yet. 22/15 and he still sucks at free throws, still has a lot to learn about passing and his post game is still raw. He never pump fakes and still just tries to bowl over guys. So Dwight still has a long way to go and he is already leading the team to a decent record. When the dude is maxed out, knowing how to read defenses, make the right pass, be cautious with the ball then just surround him with some shooters and his team will be a contender every year.

The Blazers are still mediocre at best and they definitely aren't better than the Magic. Look at the teams they beat in their streak. The best teams they beat were the Raptors and the Jazz and both teams beat them when they were matched up again.

[quote="Hairy Midget"]Go be a Clippers fan then, dumbass.

It's too bad we don't have anything to look forward to. They have Oden, what do we have? Dwight Howard? He's garbage. This sucks. I will go cry now.[/quote

Ok I will say this, the Blazers are going to be a VERY good team for a while, unless something drastic happens. To be honest I'm surprised they're doing well this year, i thought with Oden's injury they were heading for another top 5 pick, and have a shot at a player like OJ Mayo. Luckily for us IMO they're not. Still, the Blazers are playing some of the best basketball in the NBA WITHOUT their #1 pick.

Oden's going to be a great NBA player when he gets healthy. With Oden, Roy, Webster (who's emerging as a nice young player), and a good supporting cast they could be dangerous for a while. Don't be surprised to see a Blazers/Magic NBA Finals one day. :P

The Blazers are going to be good, no doubt. But you just never know how things evolve. A lot of teams said the Bulls would make the Finals this year, too, and it doesn't look like that is going to happen (not that it still might not in some future year, though). I happen to like the Blazers' roster, though.

Plus, Kenny Smith has been wrong on a whole host of other things he has said about the Magic. For instance, last year, he said they would not make the playoffs. Granted, they barely squeaked in, but he was wrong. During the 2004 draft, he said the Magic should have taken Okafor. Plus, the Magic have had some Duke players on their roster and no North Carolina players (see why Raymond Felton is ranked as a Top 10 point guard).
