The key to success is not always about looking at your core and projecting what they'll be like in 3 years. That's only part of it.

What I look at is "do we have assets that Bryan can turn into core players?" The answer is yes.

There are a lot of solid players on the Raptors and no crazy Isiah type contracts. I expect Bryan will make a couple of bold moves between now and October 2008, that will give us a better indication of what the Raps will look like in 2009-10.

I agree with you except that I think the combination of the latest TJ injury and Bargnani's poor play are rendering us assetless. (New word! :D ) Say we keep Bosh, Jose, Delfino and Moon... who are we trading then? A Kapono+Humphries package? Parker will have to be dealt pretty soon if we want something back for him, maybe this offseason. Rasho's expiring will be interesting but might only fetch an overpaid malcontent, and you just praised the fact that we don't have those right now.

The route I might go (just thought of this now, hopefully it sounds good) is to start Jose, Delfino, Moon, Bosh and then one hell of a centre. Either that or my usual idea of getting a star SF and a star/near-star C.

Common Jamario is 27 and has maybe 2 years playings at this level but a longterm piece?
