Noel to D-League
Looks like he'll continue his rehab in warmer climes. It'll be interesting to see how the hated Noel's D-League stats compare to board darling Sessions'. IIRC, this will be Noel's first D-League action.

Hope him the best......I know most of you don't like him but I saw allot of glimpse last year that Noel is a very smart player....he is one of those players that his impact will not show on the box score......please don't make this into a Noel bashing thread he is the last person you guys should be bashing.

I generally agree. Noel is probably the best post entry passer on the roster. I'm not sure if he makes the team without that skill; he's almost like our long snapper, but we never use him. It'd be nice if his mind could catch up with the speed of the NBA game so that he could utilize his considerable physical gifts, because he's got great potential as a defender. It seems like he can already drill the corner 3, which is a good place to start for him offensively.

Uhh he's been hurt, that's why.

They had changed their mind about sending Noel to the D-League at one point, but since he requested it to get playing team they sent him on down.. He's a humble kid that lacks confidence, but with confidence could be a decent bench player. He just needs to transfer some of his aggressive play during practice to the court and he would get time. Reportedly, he was told not to get to comfortable in the D-League (although he went ahead and shipped his truck to Tulsa anyway) because he is going to be brought back up soon (after the trade).Cold Crush 24 wrote:I like the athleticism that Noel can bring in the future. He just wants to play, and is concerned because he isn't getting minutes.. whereas there are guys on this team that don't even want to play that are getting minutes and he is really struggling to understand that whole mentality. We'll what if anything he can do with the few minutes he may get when the trade is finalized.. but a few spot minutes here and there might not be enough to get him where he needs to be. My guess is that they will probably send Noel back to the D-League shortly after the other players from the trade get a little bit more acclimated with the team though. Consistent minutes should help him quite a bit.
