Gordon scoring more efficiently than Deng

Post#1 » by Bull Shak » Sun Jan 20, 2008 11:41 pm

Gordon has now surpassed Deng in scoring efficiency. Gordon is at 53.2 TS%, Deng only at 52.2 TS%. Nocioni is the team leader at 55.4 TS%.

Gordon will likely get to around 56 TS% by the end of the season, if not higher.

Gordon's at 61.1 TS% since coming off the bench, and for anyone who follows scoring efficiency, they know thats damn good.

Props to Gordon. Deng needs to step it back up.

I dont know what that stat mean, but Deng is more consistent. Gordon goes 10-10 from the field and the next game he goes 2-14. Gordon is supposed to be our top scorer, so Deng shouldnt worry too much about it. As long as he is around 21 PPG, he should be fine.

Well, neither one is particularly good.

Since coming off the bench, Gordon's scoring efficiency has gone way up, but his rebounding and assist numbers are off. Personally, I was kind of embarrassed for Gordon against Golden State where Monta Ellis was beating him for rebounds.

While we are looking at advanced stats, let's hit the big one:
Deng 18.0 PER
Gordon 14.9 PER

Any reading below 15 is a below average NBA player. Obviously, Gordon has gone up recently, but for the season he isn't too hot.

Gordon is scoring on very meh efficiency, with streakiness all over. Deng has been slightly worse. Nobody deserves props for sucking slightly less than the next guy.

I DO want to give props to Gordon for his free throw percentage. Skiles challenged Gordon to shoot 90% from the charity stripe, and Gordon didn't know if he could do it. Gordon is shooting freaking 92% from the stripe. He took the challenge pretty personally, I'd guess.

What? When did this happen? A 53.2 TS% compared to a 52.2?

This. Changes. Everything.

^^It makes it somewhat understandable when you realize he's still a teenager.

seriously youve made two or three ridiculous threads with little to no convincing support for your nearly outrageous claims. grow up, you're getting ignored by me in the meantime.

Definitely one of the bright spots this year. If he continues this trend for the next many years while increasing his free throw attempts, it's a huge bonus. Free throws in my book is an extremely important stat. Going to the line is getting a free opportunity to squeeze out as many points as possible in a tight game. If you miss 10-15 free throws in a tight game, you're often going to end up with the L. Never underestimate the power of strong free throw shooters.

What the hell are you talking about?

What outrageous claim? That Gordon is scoring more efficiently than Deng? Thats supported by Gordon being a percentage point better in the stat that measures scoring efficiency.

He's got 30 thousand posts though and they're all bizarre (not in a good way either).
