Jazz/Magic/Grizz\Bucks - Okur to Orlando

Post#1 » by Bit's » Sun Jan 20, 2008 5:06 pm

Jazz trade:

Mehmet Okur
Jason Hart

for

Darko Milicic
Keyon Dooling
JJ Reddick

Why: They lose some talent but get players who fill some of Jazz' necessities like a good defender at the paint, nice backup to Deron, and an outside shooter. And Dooling's contract will expire this summer.

Deron Williams | Keyon Dooling | Ronnie Price
Ronnie Brewer | Kyle Korver | JJ Reddick
Andrey Kirilenko | Matt Harpring
Carlos Boozer | Jarron Collins
Darko Milicic | Paul Millsap

-------------------------

Magic trade:

Carlos Arroyo
Keyon Dooling
Pat Garrity
Keith Bogans
JJ Reddick
Rights to Fran Vazquez

for

Mehmet Okur
Damon Stoudamire
Brian Cardinal
David Noel

Why: Magic get a very PF who I think will do very well in MAgic system. And will compliment very well D12. A veteran leadership in Stoudamire, for the playoffs.

Jameer Nelson | Damon Stoudamire
Maurice Evans | Hedo Turkoglu | David Noel
Rashard Lewis | Hedo Turkoglu
Mehmet Okur | Rashard Lewis | Brian Cook | Brian Cardinal
Dwight Howard | Adonal Foyle

-----------------------

Grizzlies trade:

Darko Milicic
Damon Stoudamire
Brian Cardinal

for

Carlos Arroyo
Pat Garrity
Jake Voshkul
Jason Hart
Rights to Fran Vazquez

Why: They are rebuilding...so they get a lot of expiring contract and get rid of terrible contract of Cardinal. And maybe Vazquez likes the idea to join with Gasol and Navarro, and Grizz get a very talented big man, next season.

----------------

Bucks trade:

Jake Voshkul
David Noel

for

Keith Bogans

Why: Bucks really need a good perimeter defender, and Bogans I think it's very nice defender, and is very cheap too.

I hate to break it to you, but Dooling is not a nice backup PG.

Not bad for Milwaukee.

I don't like it for the Jazz - they give up Okur in order to pay Milicic 7 millions per season for not really contributing? Doesn't sound too great to me. Redick has yet to prove that he's able to play in the NBA, and with the Jazz' logjam of young SG's I doubt he'll do so. Exchanging Hart for Dooling's expiring contract makes it a little better, I guess, but still not fair value.

This is horrible for the Jazz. This is an easy pass for them.

Yeah, Milicic isn't really any kind of solution for Utah, and the only thing Dooling has over Hart at PG is that we'd be rid of him sooner. I think we'd look for more effective results than this.
