Come on, really? Do you think Johnson was trying to injure Jose to the point where he had to come out of the game, or miss future action? He certainly wanted to sting him a little, but, even as a Raps fan, it is easy for me to see how benign it was.

He is getting the punishment he deserves.

If Johnson didn't want to hurt Jose, he could have pushed, but he elbowed him, it definitely looked to me, that he wanted to hurt him. The Horford thing was a dumb play, but it wasn't intentional.

And intentional elbow to the back of the head somewhat removes any discussion about intent to injure, in my opinion.

Intentional elbows to the head are not benign, they are dirty as hell.

No matter how good they feel to throw them.

well jose got over it pretty quickly. i really don't see how he deserved more than one game. look at what lamar odom got for tackling ray allen. only one game.

seriously, it didn't look that bad. this is basketball. players get frustrated and do stupid things, but to say it was worth more than one is silly considering we all know it takes a lot more to get more suspended for 2 or more days.

if lamar can only get 1, how can we really expect johnson to get more?

and to bring out that johnson isn't some star player, and is old is pretty pathetic. what does that have to do anything? have any of us made it to the nba? that a childish argument, and johnson has been great for that team this year, despite his bad game in toronto. he's provided someone steady to hold down the offense and that hawks team is finally getting it.
once they get a true young point guard to take johnson's spot, they look like they'll have a better future than the raptors even.

jose reminds me of joel pryzbilla from the trailblazers.

he really gets under people skin and annoys them. jose is much more talented though, but god i hate joel.

maybe johnson was pissed jose was killing him offensively. i don't know, but that's kinda a back handed compliment. if i was jose, I'd take and run with it. when you are half way into the season playing way too many minutes since your team is thin at your position, you need everything you can to motivate you.

and the way chuck reacted isn't surprising now than i think about it. chuck during the game talked about how he and jose went for coffee before the game, and apparently thats what they do a lot! lol. how sweet. so it makes sense how he wanted johnson out for a long time and kept calling him a dirty player.

i was watching the atlanta feed and their announcers were acting like it was a no big deal incident and that after review the toss would get reversed. However, considering what happened the last time these two teams met, a player intentionally elbowing another player in the head deserves a 2 game suspension whether or not injury actually occured as a result of the foul.

I was very impressed by the refing. I heard him say "you're out of here" as soon as he blew the whistle. Seeing as he had the best vantage point he obviously thought it was very intentional.
