TRADE EVERYBODY BUT KEEP GORDON/NOAH

Post#1 » by topper09 » Tue Jan 22, 2008 1:30 am

Lock this if you want to but I'm sick and tired of this team, or lack of. I'm just plain sick and tired of this inconsistency and mediocrity.

I'm sick and tired of Deng playing for a contract. Boylan makes me puke. Was today's game against the Grizzlies the game we throw in the towel? I mean, what the heck was Boylan thinking??? Why would you drastically mix the friggin lineup to the point where players don't know what they're doing???? Nocioni is starting to tick me off with his unnecessary, eratic 3 point launches..

Hinrich looks lost the confused out there.. What happened to kirk?? Did he just take the money and run??

Where was Joe Smith today?? (I love Joe Smith but he's only a 1 or 2 year solution).

WE LOST TO MEMPHIS GUYS... The 5th worst team in the league. A team that surrenders the leagues 2nd worst point against total (105 points per game) !!!

I'm ready to puke... This is B.S. Trade everybody and start all over again. Gordon and Noah are the only 2 even worthy of keeping on this team.

I wouldn't have agreed, but having the thread title be all caps certainly changed my mind.

What, no love for TYRUS? Ya gotta keep Noah, BG, TT, Noc, & Thabo. Re-Load around that. Deng & Kirk can surely net you someone pretty damn good.

NLK... I'm honestly running out of patience with this debacle.. Did you hear what Barkley had to say when asked about the Bulls at halftime??

Better yet.. I love it when they asked Ivaroni about why Memphis regained the lead after the Bulls cut it to 6 early in the 3rd quarter.. the first words from Ivaroni's mount were "We threw it down to Pau and we regained the lead with his low post presence and passing ability"..

TNT's Zar was almost puking just calling the game... "Look at the Bulls just jack up shots left and right". "I can't believe Nocioni continues to bomb away from the 3 point line, bad shot"... "The Bulls are a jump shooting team and haven't scored in the paint since last year"..

Let me tell you something about Barkley. Dude speaks his mind when he's not inebriated, and makes sense. A lot of times on TNT, he's have a bit too much to drink, and it reflects in his analysis (esp. the Bulls). Honestly he keeps brining up the Garnett & Pau trades. He doesn't realize that giving up two of the core & whatever filler, puts us back to the 2003-2004 season. No one knows for sure how close these deals really were in the summer.
IMO, they were never really that close. McHale wasn't interested what we offered. He had a surplus of SF/SG, he wanted a big man (one thing we lacked, and Big Ben wasn't even in his mind of taking him on with that young roster). Memphis might be close, but then again, Pau's salary is ridiculous, and they didn't want Wallace either. They don't want TT & Deng (more tweeners, they have a surplus of tweeners). They wanted BG and Deng, or something that's ludicrous. Because you give 'em those two and whatever wack combinations/fillers, who is going to can an outside jumper from the guard positions??? Kirk, Du, Thabo, or Griff? F##$ no!
You go back to square one again, filling one need after one another. Building a championship is not easy. Restrictions of salary and all the other variables prevent that (i.e. injuries, player personalities). Sometimes you need a bit of luck.
Just take whatever Barkley says with a grain of salt, he's still laments having his @$$ handed to him by MJ and Pip in 1993. Barkley sometimes make a lot of sense, sometimes he doesn't. The times he doesn't, he just needs to STFU. He makes Sam Smith look like he should be getting sports writer's awards. Better yet, ignore Barkley.

Of course having a low post threat eases a lot of the pressure on this jump-shooting team. And no doubt moves will be made to minimize our weaknesses. I know its easy to say, but sometimes being patient brings forth the greatest reward.

Here's the thing.. I WANT TO DO THAT SO BADLY... But I can't.. I'm a die hard brother, win or lose.. I probably missed a total of 5 games since 1999.

I left work early today just to watch the Bulls.. I changed my wedding date just to watch the Bulls.. I told my wife to hold on for 4 hours on valentines day so I can watch the Bulls... And finally, I told my wife not to deliver the baby until after the Bulls played ((jj, no kids yet))

Or storm Paxson's office with a suicide vest.

Ok, joking but I'll call his office during my drunken stupors and leave messages about what a gutless a hole he is.

Everyone has been yelling that the bulls need to play the young guys .
They played the young guys and now your complaining.
The line-up that started second quarter was young and a little confused playing together.
The only way your going to see what these kids can do is play them .
The problem is there will be losses like this if they keep playing more and more.
The season is basically over anyway so they might as well play them until they drop.

Hey topper, do you have to make a new meltdown thread after every Bulls loss. Not to be rude or anything but wouldn't it be easier to have one running meltdown thread that you could bump after each loss.

Its kind of sickening to me that 98% of this board feels we will be ok with BG for the long run. Sure he would be great if we could resign him and keep him as a 6th man but it will never happen. He wants to be paid star money and even if you do wont it be insane to have him be your 6th man? I think that when the seasons over Pax main goal will to upgrade at the sg position. I like BG but we cant go anywhere with a Kirk and BG lineup and if you say get rid of Kirk and play BG at the pg your just fooling yourself.

yeah, I don't know why everyone thinks Gordon is a guy to rebuild around. he is a 6th man that can score, can't defend and cannot play major minutes at the point (the position his body is made for). There is no one on the roster that I wouldn't trade for a Gasol or better type player, and I feel like amassing first round picks is the way to go, or get cap room. And the people who feel we wouldn't be a playoff team without Gordon, please, the guy scores to offset his defensive liabilities.

You know what though. Ben Gordon 6th man or not. 6'0 or not, is a game changer and a go-to type guy you can have at the end of the game who will and has proven that he can make the tough shots. There are only about 5 guys in the league that can do that and he is one of them.

Ben Gordon is a silent assassin. The man is tough as nails, he just needs another player than can be 1/10 as dangerous as he is.

If you watch every game. The opposite coach is always saying "We have to contain Gordon and make sure he doesn't explode on us".. This is what they all say at halftime. They're scared of Gordon and they plan their entire defensive game plan trying to contain/stop him.

I love Ben.

^^

If BG were gone, other coaches would just kind of shrug during halftime interviews.

"Well, were going to focus on making sure Ben Wallace doesn't throw one off the backboard, have it bounce 10 feet in the air and fall right back into the basket, I guess."

Return to Chicago Bulls
