OT - Tyrus Thomas on the block

Post#1 » by supersub15 » Tue Jan 22, 2008 2:39 am

From the Bulls board:
If you email Sam Smith regarding Tyrus, he will reply that Tyrus Thomas is on the Bulls' bad side, and that they are actively seeking to deal him.

Looks like Tyrus Bustmus won't be here past the deadline.

Plus, there was a paper report last week that stated that same thing. Picks #1 and #2 have disappointed so far, but I wouldn't trade Bargnani for Thomas. Thomas doesn't solve any of our problems at the wings nor at center.

PS: What's with the "Bustnani" and the "Bustmus" nicknames?

LaMarcus Bustridge...it just doesn't produce the same effect. :(

p.s. i could see how the Bulls might deal Thomas for veteran help to increase their chances of making the playoffs as a way of salvaging the season. that's probably more likely than somehow getting Gasol with Thomas as the principal leverage.

Bustnani is more clever than Bustmas, but that doesn't say much.

They could have at least gone with Tybust Thomas. C'mon!

EDIT: I love that someone posted that directly before me. Clearly not the stroke of genius I hoped it was.

i discussed this on the bulls board a while back, it seemed that the bulls wanted thomas instead of aldridge cuz of thomas' upside and how the bulls wanted to build on his potential, not aldridge's health and long-term risks

I think they arent going to hit the panic button, and neither should we with bustani I mean Andrea

the bulls need more help inside than we do. no way they are going to give up two inside guys for two shooters.

Chicago is willing to give up on him so soon why? Because they want to make the playoffs and have flaws, sure. But still, it's his attitude. He has the making of a punk imo. I like him as a player, unlike many established punks, so I'm still rooting for the kid.

BC should do a bust for bust swap. Tybust for Bustnani, and looking at BC's success of trading a bust for bust like Hoffa for Bustphries I can see Tybust for Bustnani work out.

The good thing about Tyrus is he's not soft. Raptors could use some of that right now.

Did you see somewhere that the Bulls are looking for inside help? I guess it's true they don't score a lot in the paint but I watched part of their game with Memphis tonight. The Bulls just can't shoot. They've dropped about five points from last year. Nocioni is their only reliable gun and he's very streaky.
Thomas has the potential to be the banger we want -- a real high energy player and rebounder -- but i fear that "scrambled eggs for brains" comment on another thread might also apply to him.

So far we have Andrea Bustnani, LaBustage Aldridge, Tyrus Bustmus, and Bustdon Roy. All these names slide off the tongue, but what do we call Rudy Gay?? Bustdy Gay? :-?

Andrea Bustnani
Tybust Thomas
LaBustus Aldridge or LaMarcus Bustridge
Brandbust Roy
Busty Gay

if Lebron, Carmelo, Wade, Bosh were busts

LeBust James, Bustmelo Anthony, Dwbust Wade, Chris Bustosh, Darko Busticic

Problem is, we have to give up probably two of our wings to make room for him to have playing time.

I don't want to see Moon loosing minutes, same goes for Parker and Delfino. So I see maybe something like:

Raptors Give:

Jason Kapono
Juan Dixon
Andrea Bargnani

Raptors Get:

Tyrus Thomas
Chris Duhon
Joe Smith

-------------------------------

We get a little tougher inside, an athletic wing that has (dare i say) potential to be a core wing player, and the third point guard we need.

Also if/when TJ comes back Duhon can succesfully play the 2 Guard, or we could trade one of the three PG's

We give up Kapono, who i love but we arn't using him properly. Bargnani before he becomes completely untradable. And Dixon who gives instand offence, but is far too undersized.

Why Does Chicago do it???

They get arguably the best shooter in the league. Which can help there offence. Dixon who is also instant offence, and can help run the point once in a while. Finaly they get the player with the highest potential, and also some scoring on the inside, in the future. On top of all of that they get slightly younger.

Busty Gay has a very flamboyant ring to it.

What do people think of my trade idea...i think it is very possible.

The only thing that could hinder it, is if BC has not given up on Bargs yet.
