If we are going to build around 5 players, which players would you want to keep? Or... what 5 players do you just not want to part with?

Deng, Gordon, Tyrus, Noah, Thabo (Right now atleast, if you asked me this 2 weeks ago he'd be gone)

Deng, Noah, Tyrus, Gordon, Thabo. And that is really easy for me.

Same for me as for Action Paxon and the air man.

Deng, Gordon, Noah, Tyrus & Thabo.

It's not that I think that Thabo is better than Kirk or Noc; I just think that we can get decent returns for guys like Kirk & Noc and that they're not great long-term fits for us b/c of their tweener status. And I don't see Thabo bringing much of a return, whereas he could develop into a pretty good 2/3 (not sure if he could ever be a good NBA starter, though, which makes me sad that he's one of my 5 keepers).

In truth I feel a lot stronger about just Deng, BG, Noah and Tyrus. I could trade anyone else with no reservations at all.

Last year and even the begining of this year I would have wanted to keep Hinrich... right now, not so much. Although I would rather keep him than TT, Wallace or Noah.

Gordon, Deng, Hinrich(or Thabo, can't decide), Nocioni and Noah.

Only two I really want to keep are Gordon and Deng.

Deng, Hinrich, Thabo, Nocioni thats all. But for a mega deal for a superstar I wouldn't hesitate in giving them up.

Deng, Tyrus, Noah, Thabo, & between BG or Aaron Gray for the last spot.

Agreed with the posts above. Deng, Gordon, Noah, Tyrus, Thabo.

I chose these guys because of their age and/or cheap rookie cntracts. However they're pretty much all complementary player. So we'd need a star to play with them. We only have a couple of ways to get one.

Trade, draft, free agency. There aren't really any guys available in a trade right now that would put this team over the top and just about any guy who becomes available would be older than this group and I would want a player more in line with their ages.

In the draft, we've already got 16 wins and the team just isn't bad enough to tank for a guy. It would be near impossible for us to tank lower than say, the 5th worst record in the league. Those odds don't really seem good enough to be worth it to tank. Derrick Rose would be amazing with this group and if some team is stupid enough to trade him to us then yeah, I'd trade just about anyone to get him.

Our best shot is to get a star is 2010 free agency. LeBron/Wade. It's been discussed before, I have nothing to add other than I support any plan that makes us a major player in that years market.

I dont want Thabo at all

I would go for Noah, Gordon, Tyrus, Deng - and no one special for the 5th.

Deng, Gordon, Tyrus, Noah, Thabo

All of rest are either worthless - or are good enough players that we can still trade them for players who might better fit.

There is no one I would say is untouchable. The only player I would really wince over (and that's because I can forsee a real jump coming) is Tyrus. Of all the Bulls, I would trade Tyrus last.

However. . .if I got something certain and I felt good about what I was getting I would trade him too.

Unlike the posters above me (whom I respect) I would trade Gordon in a heartbeat. He's first out the door in my book.

The other two I have hope for is Thabo and Noah. Deng would be next.

Deng, Noah and Thomas. The rest i would hesitate in trading. If gordon was to be traded we would have to get a young scorer back. But thats it.

Gordon
Tyrus
Sefalosha
Joe Smith(not long term obviously)
Nocioni(moreso for his heart, passion, and the need to have a 5th man to round this thing out)

Wow, I'm surprised I'm the first to post this: Noah, Tyrus, Deng, BG, Kirk. I'm not really considering contracts or trade value, those are just the five players I'd most like to see on the floor over the next four or five seasons. Kirk is having a poor season but I don't think he'll never reach is previous performance again. Thabo has a chance to surpass Kirk but it will take more than a handful of good games.
