Think about it...we name the game after what's done only a few times per game by....the kicker. The KICKER for crying out loud. The wimpiest, highest flack taking positional player in the game. Kicker. KICKER!!

Aw, Wingy, don't buy into that tired old argument. The name football is accurate in the historic origins of the game. Before the popularization of the forward pass, football was much more similar to rugby and the ball was often advanced through drop kicks as much as running.

But enough about soccer and football. I'm not going to hijack suckfish's welcome thread.
