How about Russell Turner? He's more than qualified..He happened to be at Wake Forest when Duncan was there..I give him all the credit for Duncan's NBA career.

Sr or Jr...or both.

You nailed it. Its confusing being a Wolves fans. Every night, just after a loss, I'm frustrated, but I wake up the next morning, read the standings, and I'm happy as a clam. Today's game will be the inverse -- tomorrow I'll be wishing we were on the wrong side. I suppose occasional wins keep the youngins from successful college programs from having their souls completely crushed this year.

Been there... good luck with that. And Gomes is worth a late 1st from what I've seen... he'll be at least a rotational player on a good team.

Its not Nellie's fault. Didnt you hear his interview? He told his players to play, what more could he do? Nellie absolved himself completely when he said that.

I think we're better off as a franchise to completely blame CJ Watson, the guy who wont be here in a week. He completely disappeared during the crunch time of the 4th. We didn't sign him from the D-League to 2 10 day contracts so he'll just become invisible in the 4th... blog about how you failed, you failure...

31 minutes for our D leaguer gaurds...

24 minutes for O'Bierovic.

0 minutes for the 8th and 18th picks.

3 minutes before the train wrecked.

I cant see any team giving a 1st for him at this point. He's a free agent in 6 months. Big raise coming from whoever ends up with him, and if you trade for him the risk of losing him for nothing exists also.

was it so he could have Baron playing SF instead. :banghead:
dumba$$ move. absolutely rediculous.
freakin genius pulls an actually SF who also happens to be the best player on the floor at that moment, so he can push Baron over to SF, Monta at SG, and keep a freakin D-League newby at PG.
WHAT? uh HELLO. Barnes is hot tonight AND a SF. sounds like an obvious decision to have in the game, but NO, not with Nelly.
aaarrrggg!!! :curse:

then of course, when the Warriors start getting abused at the SF position (DUH!) he decides he'll push Baron over to PF to make up for it. :banghead: :banghead:

I feel your pain. I didn't call in sick today, but there's times I see Nellie as the rainman of NBA coaches. There's moments of pure wizard..moments of pure WTF?

Win by any means...both now and in the future ...that's what it's about. I LIKE an artistic style...but that can't be the bottom line. The objective is to (asap) win the whole thing. There's no point's awarded for style.

The Wolves are young + raw but they have talent. If we bring our best-they have little chance. If a few players get sloppy,if the coach mucks up his priorities-then the W's ain't at all bulletpoof.

i'm seriously growing tired of Nelsons non-sense rotations and can't understand what he's doing. i like him for a lot of things, but i sure can't stand a bunch of things too.

anyways i don't want to take anything away from Minny. they played well and it's a good win for them.
CENSORED... No comment.

Yeah, it was all the Watson's fault. Nevermind that our second round draft pick was crap down the stretch.

BTW, Watson had a +18, by far the best +/- on the team. Monta was the worst at -11. I can't wait to hear how you're going to spin that stat.

Wait, you probably won't, because you can't.

I thought Monta was pulled for his D?

Gomes is not a good matchup (you think?) for Harrington. It's like the karma of the Yao Ming deal

For a playoff team looking at a late 1st, that doesn't neccessarily want to add payroll next year, Gomes starts to look desirable because I think it's clear he'd get 15-20 minutes on most teams. The obvious option would be Phoenix. If they decide that they don't want that Atlanta pick they could package it with Piatkowski and take Gomes and Smith/Green. This puts a couple more guys in their rotation at minimal cost. Off the top of my head, I could also see Denver, Cleveland, New Jersey, LA, basically any team headed to the playoffs and looking to expand their bench would consider it, IMO.

Also, as the league seems to be getting more cost conscious, I have doubts that any team would throw the whole MLE at him. I think a sign-and-trade would be more likely to happen if another team wanted to get Gomes.

Warfan, the problem is that you say he would be desirable to a team who "doesn't necessarily want to add payroll next year" and yet if a team trades for him, they would have to do that very thing or else they've just wasted their 1st rounder as he walks in free agency.

For a team looking for cost certainty and not adding payroll, that is far more assured by keeping the 1st rounder.

I think the only team that might be interested would have to be a team that wouldnt mind increasing their payroll to keep him. But if you get other bidders, you have to face the possibility you might have to pay more than you want to.

Because you don't get any cost certainty and you don't get any assurance of having him more than a month or two, I question whether someone will pay a 1st at this point. I have my doubts.

One other thing needs to be noted: his numbers so far have been on incredibly bad teams. As a result, they can be deceptively bloated. That's one more risk a team would have in trading for him with the idea of him playing a long term role.

CJ's best aspect tonight was existing... he was doing it like a 10 year all-star throughout the 4th... no D, no O, just being there...

When the Warriors got hot, CJ was there... contributing? Nah. Leaving McCants and Jaric for wide open 3s?

Thank God the Wolves are a raw team right now... could have got embarassing...

Baron missing five FT's hurt us but I'll give the team a pass for this loss. I kind of had a gut feeling the early one o'clock start might throw the team off coming off 4 road games in five nights.

Oh well on to the next game.

Thank you. That's what I've been saying about the +/- stat all along and this is the first time you've agreed with me. Well there is hope.

I'm not so charitable. Like it or not, we have a GOOD team. I can't abide effort losses to the worst team in the league at home. That's disgusting. But then again, Jackson is our team leader and he's been dogging it a lot lately. If I see him sit down in the back court and watch the Warriors get scored on one more time I'm gonna puke. Or if I see Baron wave at his man while he goes in for a layup I'm gonna throw a shoe at the TV.

My poor TV.

When you gamble as much as Baron does on defense sometimes you're going to get beat.
