the right answers and combination of players are often very hard to come up with. i have not seen the Charlotte bobcats play a game this season, but i really like their core of players and it makes me wonder why they keep losing. i believe Felton is better than Mo; Richardson is the equal of Redd, Okafur is far better than bogut; and Gerald Wallace is far greater than anything the bucks have at small forward. prezac used to be an ok center, and now Mohhamed has put up some nice "numbers". But they keep losing and I don't understand why. I thought this was a good mixture of players capable of scoring and playing good defense.
I like players like Mike miller and Cardinal, but they have never really guided memphis to any great glory. We all know how great the hawks are with childress on their team.
I look at who's in first, and then i look at what team has been successful for the past 5 years and then ask why? What do the Suns, Spurs, Pistons, and Mavs and this year's celtics all have in common? I can't find it. Not all 5 teams have a great veteran PG or great veteran center. They don't all play great defense. their coaches are not all veterans. I can find only two things that each teams shares - they all have a veteran all star on the court and they all have a player who can score 20 points inside and a player who can score 20 points outside.
Despite his many shortcomings, adding Zach randolph would provide the bucks a player who could score inside to complement a player who can score outside (redd).
I remember the Bucks before the Big O arrived. the Big O provided an outside threat to complement kareem and Dandridge. Bob Lanier did the same thing when he arrived. Bob provided an inside scoring threat to an already established Bucks outside scoring ability.
I believe the Bucks need somebody inside to be a scoring threat rather than just a guy who passes and sets picks. They need bogut to start being greedy and taking more shots. or they need a guy like Randolph who's not afraid to shoot the ball.
maybe Randolph is not the best answer. maybe rasheed Wallace would be a great addition. I almost believe Chris Webber could be that missing inside scoring link the bucks need. Chris has his faults and detractors. But he does have talent and knowledge of the game. i don't know whether his knees would hold up. but as many people in favor of trading gadz away have said, gadz isn't poviding us much this year. Webber has to be an improvement over anything currently coming off the bucks' bench. yes, he's a head case. but he can rebound, score, pass and block shots. and he has an attitude.
My attempt at forming a roster with Zach Randolph

Mo Williams is a combo guard, someone who can run the offense off the bench, but not a guy who can lead a team or make his teammates better. And also a poor defender, though not for a lack of effort.
Bogut, who was considered a bit soft in his forst 2 years, has turned it around completely defensively. He's blocking shots and generally protecting the basket.
His offense is still a work in progress, but he's improving. If he continues to work on his game, he'll be the undisputed best player on the Bucks in a year or so.
I haven't been watching Bogut during this period. It sounds like he is developing in areas he needs to, some of the stats are showing this. I probably judged him to quickly as he is only 23, just like CV. Why do you think his FG% is so drastically lower than last year? He isn't taking many more shots.

Thank you. A few people don't seem to get this.
With the way Bogut has played recently, how about we just let him be the guy that gets 20 points inside? You know, the guy that has the unselfishness, passing ability, and bball IQ to hit the role players for the open shots.

Pinot love - could you give us an assessment of Miles? i know he's been injured, but you should have had a small sample of his games to watch. a lot of other people seemed to think he was a nice talented small forward. i thought he was a selfish hotdogging loser. but I've been wrong before. i would have to believe a healthy Miles is better than Simmons. I thought Miles was supposed to have returned by now. any thoughts about Miles as long as we're talking about portland players?

You mean Bogut? His fg% is a little below is career average, but not that much. The difference is probably because he's been getting more touches in the post, and isn't always effective going one on one. Although the numbers from january say otherwise: hopefully he can keep this up.

He started the season with the guards and coach ignoring him on offense (again), and Bogut isn't the type of player who shoots everytime he gets touches. Then, the team started losing games, and a few guys get injured. The coach then has the brillant idea to finally give the #1 pick the ball and give the team some set plays to run with Bogut as option 1. Lo and behold, Bogut made the most of it. His percentages started going up and his win score for the last couple of weeks is phenomenal.

Eh, he looked good in the practice footage that been circulating recently. I think he's only effective as a role player, not a go to guy. He's to inefficient to be taking threes and going to the line a lot. But, as far as a 6th man or 3rd highest scorer, he's good for his energy, ability to put the ball on the floor and take it to the rack. Honestly with the Blazers lack of aggressiveness and a player who can take it to the rack hard (other than Roy, who is getting too beat up), we need him right now. Good for us, hopefully he can build value. Honestly no team should trade for him until he shows his knee is OK and he still can take it to the hole.
