What is wrong with this organization. Noah, Tyrus, and to a lesser degree, Gray could all use help learning how to play down low. Why is a player development on a rumor at the Berto.

I have long wanted a good big man coach for the Bulls. However, let's wait and see how much it helps Bargnani before we take THIS as the one cue to follow.

Looks to be working for Andrew Bynum too. Bulls don't do a whole lot that DOES make sense lately. The lights have been off in the GM office for a long time.

It's interesting that Bogut has his friend from Australia that helps him out with things as well, though I don't really know what the deal is there if he is a basketball guy or what.

Perhaps though, the pressure is more intense for a team that drafted a guy number 1 to make sure he does not become a bust.

Apparently Skiles resisted going in the direction of any kind of big man coach. Now that Boylan is in charge in sort of a temporary capacity, he might not have the long term authority to make a move like that. Which is another reason we should have hired a permanent (as can be in the NBA) coach that could have started laying down a more concrete direction for the club.

I'm not to bothered. I think Gray would be the only one who would really benefit from the coaching as he is the only one good enough with his back to the basket in terms of footwork and positioning etc. Tyrus and Noah are still mastering the basics, I guess a basic coach would do them for now.

Noah and Ty are still at the stage where they need to master the fundamental basics, getting into a specialist big man may only confuse them further, it would at least be a bit of a waste as we could get a current coach to spend time with them.

I'd rather sort the head coach out first, followed by his assistants (I'm not convinced) then I'd worry about bringing in extras.

If we do bring in any special coaches though I think Pippen despite his negative criticisms would do Thabo a world of good.

Definitely something worth thinking about, I'd just rather sort out the priorities first. This organization has enough trouble doing that.. Wouldn't want to completely bury them in it now would we!

If anything, I think Tyrus would respond better to having a specific big man coach than Bargnani will. Bargnani is, by all accounts, stubborn as a mule. He, unlike Tyrus, has had fundamental coaching. Only problem is, Bargnani got coaching as a wing. Now he has to unlearn all of those habits. I think Tyrus would do well with a mentor type of coach to really mold him as a player, seeing as he really plays as positionless athlete right now.

Not many guys regress with individualized attention. Ewing helped Yao to some degree. Kareem has helped Bynum.

This reminds me of when we signed Randy Livingston, and Ben Gordon said that he became a mentor to him. Gordon played some amazing basketball. In the final month of that season, with Gordon and Livingston having a strong repertoire, and Livingston pointing out Gordon's shortcomings when he came out, Gordon put up 21.4 PPG (on 67 TS%) 3.7 assists (to 2.4 turnovers), and going to the line 5.6 times a game.

I think a specific coach that works with a player and helps them improve would be great for this team. I think Livingston helped get Gordon on line to being a star, and someone else may be able to do the same for Gray or Thomas.
