It's pretty ridiculous that Kobe has never been MVP. If Lakers win 55+ games (they're currently on pace for 57) and he can keep putting up these kind of numbers, I can't see anyone else winning it. LeBron, Paul, KG and maybe even Dwight may all be equally good candidates, but Kobe will win simply because he's been screwed out of the award so many times in the past.

I want Kobe to get it, but the only way the Lakers will get it is if they win 50 + which there is a good chance. For KG to get it the celts will need over 60 for sure and at this rate they have a good chance to be within the late 60's. As for NOH Chris just has to get 50 + wins and Dwight can get 55 + wins. I think its between Kobe and Chris Paul, as i can see it they dont have that second official superstar on their team. Even though Kobe has Andrew Bynum(He's gone for a while) and Odom(hasnt done much) he still dosnt have much help. Chris Paul has a better team but his numbers are one of a kind.
Lakers-50 + wins
Boston-65 + wins
NOH----50 + wins
Orlando-55 +wins

The Cavs have been pretty mediocre this year, so I really don't see why you would consider Lebron for MVP.
Right now the MVP has to be Paul. But the Lakers keep it up without Bynum it will be hard not to pick Kobe for MVP.

Is anyone else surprised about Bosh's standing in the MVP race? I mean I don't expect him to take MVP nore should anyone else for that matter..but 11th place? I'm often pretty critical of Bosh when he play's poor but he deserves more credit than he's been given after his injury. He's really put the team on his shoulder in recent games. I also disagree that Pierce is so high in the standings. Whats so special about him? If KG is second in the race how could someone on the same team be in eighth. That would leave the rest of the team doing little or nothing to help contribute to a win game in and game out.

The Cavs aside from LeBron are absolutely terrible. And I made that judgment partially by extrapolating his numbers recently, which I should have specified. If he keeps producing at this rate, it'd be tough to overlook him.
But I still say Paul. And the Lakers won't keep it up without Bynum. Kwame Brown is a significant, significant step down.

It's still very early to call anyone the clear favourite at this point.. I think they'll pass over Nash and Dirk this year because of their past wins. Kobe, LeBron and KG are probably the front runners. Paul deserves to be on that list but I think he loses out because of his lack of a track record. If Orlando has a strong 2nd half, Dwight Howard might sneak in there.

Nurse is below average at best.
Masai is overrated.
I dont get how so many people believe in the raptors, they have zero to chance to win it all.

If the Lakers are going to win most of their games without Bynum or Ariza who are both out for at least a month each, than yeah give the MVP to Kobe. Lakers don't exactly have superstars around Kobe unlike Garnett who has Allen and Pierce. Not to mention they were able to beat the Nuggets yesterday even though they were short handed.
